I have gotten the newest version which has the 1.1.2 and 04.02.13_G, bought in the
Apple Store in New York.

Can people please point me to any direction on how to open the phone? I live in Norway and I do not use Mac. Should I be using Mac instead for unlocking in iTunes?

When I connect the iPhone to iTunes it just goes to the activation screen and I can't restore it. In fact, I can't do anything with it, there are no menues or options when i right-click it.

Please enlighten me with how or when I can get to use the phone, are there new cracks on the way?

iDemocracy 2 would be also an option, don't know how reliable it is though.

all you can get at the moment is a jailbreaked and activated phone, can't use sim cards other than O2 in it - so no calls or sms.... basically an iPod touch

maybe you should wait a bit untill a stable and easy way to unlock the 1.1.2...

that would be the very smart thing to do. but well, very hard one. I've been there - got my phone and I managed to keep it in the box for maybe two days. then I had to get it out and play with it. the dev teams jailbreak worked great with my phone - not a single issue, so I'd say it is rather stable and will be the basis of any future single-click jailbreak/activate/unlock packs. plus well, using it as an iPod touch is somewhat satisfying rather than having a useless expensive desk decoration.

the dev team should be hard at work with the new unlock. and I'm pretty sure it will work into the current jailbreak like a charm

the only question now, is when... just sit tight and wait. or figure out a solution on your own if you can
