Default [already unlocked iphones & Windows Vista 64 bits]

    Hello friends,

I buyed a new computer with 6Gb of RAM thus I need a 64 bits OS to take advantage of it. I was thinking of windows vista 64 until i saw it was incompatible with iphone.
The good news are that i've read (in engadged) that many people was able to use their iphones with the last version of itunes and 1.1.3 firmware.

    My question:

    1) Someone have tried to use AN UNLOCKED 1.1.2 iphone on vista 64 with last version of itunes? does it synk properly?

    2) Is it risky to update itunes? I've searched to the forum and iv'e seen 2 different opinions, one said better not to upgrade itunes, others said that there was no problem with it. So i'm a little messed.

    Thank you in advance.

I use Vista x64 and had problems with iTunes when using my iPhone until they released iTunes 7.6. Now everything works great. Syncing songs, videos, contacts etc, except for closing iTunes. You, or atleast I need to force-close it (Ctrl-Alt-Delete), which means I've gotta loggin in to my iTunes Store account everytime i open iTunes. Dont know if this is a problem only I'm experiencing?

ChrisCross, thank you very much for the information. I really dont mind to close itunes that way. In one week i will tell you if its a vista issue or an isolated problem.

    any more experiences about that?

Hi, I have Vista 32-bit machine and a XP machine.

I'm stuck at iTunes 7.4 since I don't need the extra features of the new versions.

Anyways, I just want to add that on EXIT iTunes doesn't really exit on both the machines I have and stays resident eating up 100% of the processor until I end the task in Task Manager.

Sometimes it helps if I close it by going File>Exit instead of just clicking on the X button on the corner.

So I think it's not a Vista related problem, but instead an Apple one.

Otherwise the iPhone syncs with both machines - no problem at all.

everything works fine with vista64 and itunes 7.6 (64bit) for me, this includes all downgrades (like 1.1.3 -> 1.1.2) when people suggest to go on 7.5 and similar... also most of tools written for old 32bit version works, this includes jailbreak.jar, iphuc, ibrickr... only tool it doesnt work atm is idemocracy 2.0.2
