Default After re-updating to 1.1.1, iPhone will no longer go into Restore mode...STUCK!

Ok, I'm just about ready to throw in the towel and buy another iPhone. Here's what happened...

I followed the method for backgrading to 1.0.2, which worked. Used AppTap to bypass activation. When I attempted to download software via installer.app I kept getting a error message about "Code execution" that prohibited any software from installing. Nice.

I tried using INdependence to connect via SSH, and that didn't work, it sent the iPhone into panic attack (Restore mode).

Here's where things really went wrong.

When I attempted to do another restore to 1.0.2, it refuses to work. I get an error message (Error 1) via iTunes. With that being the case I had no choice but to reupdate to 1.1.1, otherwise my iPhone would be stuck in perpetual restore mode. The update when smoothly. But now holding down the sleep/wake and home button fails to put iPhone in restore mode, as it did before. Instead of the yellow exclamation box, I now encounter an iTunes icon with a plug, beckoning me to dock the iPhone. Not a good sign.

So now I have an iPhone stuck with 1.1.1, and no way to downgrade or alter in any fashion.

Looks like I'll be applying that $100 store credit on a new iPhone rather than a MacBook Pro.

That ITUNES ICON and USB connector is the new symbol for restore mode!
don't expect to see the yellow triangle!

I figured that out myself, but it isn't my real problem. Pressing and holding the sleep/wake + home button no longer puts iPhone in restore mode. The only way I can invoke restore mode is by doing something invasive, like jailbreaking, which then triggers Restore.

That and the fact iTunes refuses to load 1.0.2 without crashing or spitting out an error massage saying (Error 1).

iPhone blog, you're acting more fast than your brain: the first issues - script/code execution error - was caused by the filesystem mounted in Read/Only: you've just need to re-jailbroke the iPhone, without all that mess.. it's written in HUNDRED of how-to.

now sit down, take a deep breath and STOP tampering: just WAIT for a clean and neat solution for an pre-patched donwgrade. you don't need to throw anything.

That's how I got into this mess in the first place!

you don't need to throw anything.
Too late. I've already thrown a head of lettuce against the wall and smashed all the china in the house. I'm headed out to the tool shed now to get a sledgehammer, to smash all the windows...in my neighbors house.
