Question [Advice] Updating to 2.0 > Path through the Maze....

I am sure I cannot be the only individual a little bit mesmerised by the many options and complexities associated with unlocking the iPhone. The more I read, the more I am confused. I may have a PhD in Physics, but it does not seem to help...

I wonder if some kind sould could help shine a light for me - by answring the following:

1/ I have an iPhone unlocked by Ziphone 2.5, running firmware 1.1.4, and downgraded (unfortunately) to baseband 3.9. Works no problem at all. Can I use pwnage tool to take this phone safely to 2.0? If so - is there a single post with step by step instructions?

2/ Is it possible to do 1/ without having to re-load the 16 Mbytes of photos and music - and teh many 3rd party applications?

3/ Does anyone know if Kate (formerly Caterpillar) and Intelliscreen work with 2.0 at the moment?

4/ Are any of the applications available free through the App Store on 2.0 available through Installer under 1.1.4? I am thinking the new Remote application - but I guess the answer is "no", as I imagine it would require iTunes 7.7 anyway so no point?

Sorry of these are obvious questions ...

    Humbly yours - ikcikc

    1. should be able to, follow the steps here http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=36686

    2. when syncing up with itunes after the update you should be able to load up your old settings and stuff. So your pics will be put back on, you can always add your music back on, but the apps youll have to add yourself(not many are supported right now)

    3. I dont know about this one sorry.

    4. nope, all the apps on app store require the new 2.0 firmware.

Neither Kate, nor intelliscreen work yet. RiP Dev are working hard on kate, although with all the problems people have with it, I don't know why they're bothering.
    Peace,

    Thanks for the help.

It seems that the Windows route is a bit more complex than teh nice easy Mac route - or is that just an impression?

Yeah - I use less of eth features of Kate than I used to - but I run it for the 5-icon doc, which is very neat. I run Intelliscreen just so that I can see the next week of callenda entries on the lock-screen - it would be really neart if Apple did something like this...
