    Default [Advice] Which unlocking method?

    I hate to do this (opening a thread) but im clearly confused right now.

    Im a 1.1.3 OTB formerly unlocked using ZiPhone 2.3. I have been trying to keep myself away from upgrading anymore till 2.0 comes but recently my iphone been troubled by frequent crash from all the application.

    So I guess its time to restore to 1.1.4 through iTunes and my question is which of the many unlocking software now should i use?

    Pwnage
    iPlus
    iLiberty (my current choice)
    ZiPhone
    Independence

    Which of the above allows me to jailbreak+unlock but doesn't require me to downgrade my bootloader 4.6, no side effect, with least problem and a revertible process?

    Ps. I did read the faq page but im still clearly confused. The variety is killing me

    Thanks for your help~!

    I'd go for Pwnage. It's reversible, works perfect for me.

    Yeah Pwnage seems to be a good option. Even if you want to upgrade to 2.0 in future looks like Pwnage will be the initial choice!

    If you don't want trouble, stay away from StronZiphone.

    I was gonna avoid Pwnage because it looks complicating. Am i required to create a custom firmware? All i want is to unlock and jailbreak my 1.1.3 OTB.

    Just to make sure. Are these the step?

    Current state - 1.1.3 Jailbreak+Unlocked
    1. Download 1.1.4 firmware files
    2. Browse .ipsw through winpwn
    3. iPwner
    4. Done?

    Whats launch iBooter for?

    It's all in the FAQ I mentioned and easy to do. First you have to do a restore to fw 1.1.4 in iTines then proceed as described.

    at 4 you are not done, you built your custom formware including apps you want like installer, bsd, open ssh etc. From then on you use iTunes to restore to your custom fw. no more hacking cause your iPhone is pwnaged.

    I got the following message when i attempt to run IPSW Builder

    Failed to load source:http://www.touchrepo.com/repo.xml, reason:The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.
    Is it me or touchrepo server is down right now?

    If you don't want to touch your bootloader at all then Independence will downgrade you to 1.1.2 unlocked baseband (even though you will be on 1.1.4) and lets you leave your bootloader as it is. However, locate me in google maps will not work with your phone if you do that!

    Pwnage/BootNeuter will not downgrade your bootloader either BUT it does reflash it in order to neuter it so it will work unlocked on the 4.6 bootloader.

    Remember you will have to unlock when you upgrade to 1.1.4 as the 1.1.4 baseband will relock your phone.
    iPhone US 8GB
    FW 1.0.2--> iUnlock--> iPhoneSIMfree--> 1.1.1 --> 1.1.2--> Soft upgrade 1.1.3 --> 1.1.4 using signal.app
    iPhone UK 16GB
    FW 1.1.3 OOB --> 1.1.4 --> iPlus 1.2 unlocked!

    <----If I helped you out, rep points are always nice (thanks for that idea!)
