[Advice] Poor Reception with AT&T
Hey guys so my girlfriend wanted an iphone and she has AT&T account, but in a few months she wants to get T-Mobile because its cheaper. Anyway I unlocked, jailbroke, and activated a 1.1.4 otb phone for her using Ziphone. I used the same program to unlock my other friends phones including mine and nobody has any problems what so ever. Her phone however, shows really poor reception for some reason. We were in the same exact place and her phone with AT&T showed 1 bar of service, while someone else's phone showed all bars!! What could be wrong?? She can text, send and receive calls, internet works, youtube, itunes, etc... Just poor service and she misses calls and texts very frequently because of the poor service. Makes no sense!

I know what you mean its not nesscerialy the phones fault rather than the network. Best advice I could give you is if she has a olderodle iPhone switch the bootloader to 4.6 rather than 3.9. Thats what I do at work to hold at least 1 to 2 bars, 3 at the most. Results may vary. On a side note I would stay away from using ziphone.....

Thanks for the reply. But I doubt its the network because when I took out the sim from her iPhone and put it into her old razor it had full service in the same spot that the iPhone just had like 1 bar. Besides how would changing bootloaders have any effect on the service?

You're not alone with AT&T network the UK 02 networks are not that good
I've taken )law( advice and been running 4.6 for a few days now.. I haven't noticed any big improvement but in some areas I'm sure its been better then normal.

Thanks for the replies. So can you tell me exactly what to do step by step? Should I put the phone into recover mode and restore using itunes using a 1.1.4 FW I downloaded, then just activate, jailbreak, unlock using iliberty+ (I have windows)? Thanks again guys!

These days I do stay away from ZiPhone but I used the program on my phone before I was aware of how buggy it was.... I have restored to 1.1.4 and jailbroke/activated/and unlocked with iliberity but my problem persist....
Im about ready to virginize my phone and see if that makes difference hopefully there is another anwser...
