Default [Advice] can't restore any firmware > stuck in recovery mode

Hi, searched to no avail. so please don't flame me. Please help.

My friends phone is stuck in recovery mode and can't restore any firmware.
I had used ZiPhone 2.5 to unlock to 1.1.2 firmware 4.6bootloader about 3 months ago.

I tried all, in recovery & dfu modes. Tried using Itunes 7.4/7.5/7.6. Just sticks to apple logo, and spinning wheel for over 30 mins. and then error message. Had all sorts 1012,1015,1604,1,6 etc...

Can't load any firmware. can't dial out. and now can't get ibrickr to restart back to the emergency slider. when it did work i heard high pitched beep whenever I slid the slider or dialed along with normal touch tones too. ??
used ziphone/iliberty to make sure its in dfu modes. tried iphone tools.tried winpwn beta pc version. no luck

I'm guessing my basebands all screwed up. can't dial anymore, so don't know whats bb or firmware.

Anybody have any ideas for me to try or am I outta luck. ??

    Thanks.

also, make sure you are putting in DFU mode correctly. many people said they put in DFU but they are not. If you see a cd+cable on the screen, you are not in DFU.
Once you are in DFU, you should be able to restore to 1.1.2 or 1.1.4

    i'm having a similiar problem.

i'm having an iPhone which was supposed to be running 1.1.4, but god knows wat the owner did and it was handed over to me showing just the connect to itunes screen.

Tried to restore firmware but i keep getting an error (6). Tried a few comps and even all unlocking methods like iLiberty, ZiPhone, iBrick, iPhuc, iPlus but none seems to work.. Occasionally i can manage to kick the phone out of recovery mode, but it just hangs at the apple logo screen.

right now, it hangs halfway thru the restoring firmware in itunes...

    help anyone?

Unhappy has anyone fixed this yet? im having same problem

i have a 1st gen iphone. when it came to me it was fresh out of the box. i upgraded to 2.2 by reason of stupidity and now it will not downgrade to 1.1.4. it just hangs in the restoring phaze. it will start to prep iphone. then it restores (the bar goes all the way to the end) then it verifies (bar goes to the end) and then it goes back to restoring iphone firmware and just hangs forever. on my iphone it shows the apple and then wheel at the bottom just forever spinning. has anyone fixed theirs? was it by dumb luck? is there a method? PLEASE HELP ME!

Why dont you goto firmware 2.2.1 and jailbreak/activate/unlock the iPhone? It is a first generation iPhone, unlocking is just easy...
Restore in iTunes to the latest firmware 2.2.1 the use one of the tutorials
