[Advice] Black Screen of the Death
Hi,
My Iphone will not turn on. I've pushed the power button, held the power and home button for DFU restore, connected it by USB to my mac, Itunes doesn't recognize it. The phone seems totally bricked. It was originally firmware v1.02, upgraded to v1.13 with Ziphone 2.5, and when I started having constant reboot issues, I did a DFU restore and installed Pwnage 1.1. But it still continued to have white screen flashes and rebooting. Now the phone seems dead. What options do I have? At the very least I'd like to do a factory restore so I can take it to the Apple Store without them seeing that pineapple icon upon startup. Any help would be most appreciated!
Thanks,
Alexander

Did you virginize before going to 1.1.3?
The 1.02 unlocks had a corruption issue which was resolved by virginizing before updating.

Did you say pineapple, pawnage? What firmware did you use.....??
-
NSLog- No, I didn't virginize before going to 1.1.3
)law(- I used pwnage v1.1, which installs a pineapple icon while the Iphone boots on, and I believe installs firmware 1.1.4

Your problem may be more serious than a bad baseband if you cant even turn it on anymore. Do what these guys are saying and try to dfu, restore and virginize. If still nothing (and I am assuming you have tried to charge your iphone) then you may have a hardware failure, maybe your battery. If you do manage to start up your iphone try and check what your IMEI is settings-general-about, if it starts with 0049 that is one of the signs of a bad baseband, it should be the same as the IMEI on the back of your iphone.

I'm thinking at this point that it is a hardware failure as I can't turn the phone on even to DFU. Hopefully, Apple will just swap the phone, fingers crossed.
