This is my first post here. I am interested in upgrading my 1.1.1 4GB iPhone to the latest 1.1.4 firmware. The phone was originally a 1.0.2 phone that was virginized and upgraded to 1.1.1 by someone about 6 months ago and I don't know what method was used.

Now, I have experienced some problems with my phone lately (freezing, etc.). I wanted to upgrade my phone to the 1.1.4 firmware. Can someone tell me what method I should use. I have no experience with this. How do I virginize the phone and then how do I upgrade it and unlock again making sure that it doesn't brick. I use an iMac with Leopard.

put it into DFU mode and restore it to 1.1.4 using iTunes then unlock it with either PwnageTool or iLiberty

Sorry, what is the DFU mode, and are you sure if I do this it won't brick my phone. Do I need to do a separate step virginizing the phone or does the iTunes' restore function do that already.

Try the search function. There are a lot of guides, FAQ, etc, regarding to the upgrade to 1.1.4.. You'll find whatever you need. Good luck
