A friend of mine has a 1.1.4 unlocked phone that doesn't have installer one it and he would like to add it so he can install apps, I'm guessing just use iLiberity+ to add Cydia through the jailbreak process and then add installer from cydia?

you can use iliberty to install the installer application all you have to do is select jailbreak on the standard tab and then on the advance tab select installer
