[4.6 sw unlock] is it possible to jailbreak without wifi?
Hiyas,
I've tried to unlock my 1.1.3 iPhone using Geohot's sw method, but I've mangled my baseband. In a few words, I managed to do the unlock with the 4.03.13g firmware, instead of 4.02.13g.
The result is that I ended with a unactivated/unlocked iPhone, and a damaged baseband ("Repair needed" message).
My problems are:
- I can't downgrade it to 1.0.2 because it is a week 48 phone.
- If I try to update the iPhone to 1.1.3, it will not fix the baseband (my bet is that Itunes thinks it is already using the correct bb, and then, do not try to update it).
- I cannot jailbreak the phone o 1.1.1/1.1.2, because I have no wifi.
Anyone knows a way to jailbreak a week 48 iphone without using wifi? Or at least, force iTunes to update the baseband to a fresh 4.03.13? That way, I believe I could "rerun" geohot's unlock, and update my phone to a proper baseband.
Thanks in advance,
Domingos

I had a similar problem and it was told me to do this:
1. Upgrade to 1.1.3 using iTunes. The REAL upgrade.
2. Put iphone into DFU mode and restore to 1.1.1
3. Jailbreak 1.1.1 and run OKTOPREP
4. Upgrade to 1.1.2 and Jailbreak
You should now be at 1.1.2 with 4.03 baseband. Simply run the 1.1.2 unlock, then use Bricktool to make the phone work according to these instructions.

Warning: I had a lot of issues when restoring and upgrading. Once it wouldn't come out of DFU, once it didnt jailbreak 1.1.2. Just keep trying, it will work.
I followed the process but now i can't jailbreak 1.1.2

Yes, that would be easy if I could upgrade to 1.1.3. remember that the iPhone is not activated, so I can only restore to 1.1.3 (and at the moment, this option is not fixing my baseband).
So, anyone have any hints on how to FORCE this 1.1.3 update (and guarantee that iTunes "fixes" my damaged baseband)?
Thanks in advance,
Domingos

Sorry, maybe i didn't understand, but you have tried to click on the "update" button on iTunes, like you should do if u had a "legal" i phone and let itunes do all the work? because if you update by "shift-click" itunes would not repair your BB... If the procedure is correct you should be warned, accept the rights of management, then it will download the files needed (about 20min) then start the upgrade. tell me if is this what you done

Nope, I did not click "update", as this button is not available to me (at the moment, I can't even jailbreak the phone on whatever version). I can only "restore" or "shift+restore".
I do not know any way to jailbreak my phone, since the only wifi-less JB I know is on 1.0.2 (which I cant do, since I have a week 48 phone).
If anyone knows how to jailbreak my phone, that would be great. That way, I would be able to try Geohot's unlock another time, or at least, try to use the "update" button on iTunes.

Domingos
