    Default [2.0][Unlock from previous IPSF]

Quick question for anyone who may have tried this...

Upgrade from 1.1.4, previously unlocked with the free version of IPSF, to 2.0. Stick in a UK O2 sim card to activate the phone, remove the SIM card and then use any non-supported SIM.

I'm in the middle of trying this at the moment... seemed to work initially (signal on UK Voda), but everytime the phone was restarted I get an "invalid SIM" message. So worst case is needing to have access to iTunes and an O2 SIM every time the phone is restarted. However, it looks like the IPSF solution persists through to 2.0.

Unfortunately the phone then crashed so badly that I need to do a restore (which is happening now).

If anyone is interested in the outcome of this test, can keep you posted.

Is your phone a UK or US version?
I have a US version and the PAYG O2 sim doesn't work with it.

I did try that, however you are then invited to sign up with AT&T and input personal data, credit cardand US address details.

    Yes tried that too.
I even rang up O2 and complained that their website states that you can run a PAYG on a 1st generation phone that you have been "given". Apparently the US version is locked to AT&T only and the only way around it is to get an unlock code from AT&T. I shalln't even waste my time on that one! She did say that the phone could be unlocked but she wasn't in a position to tell me how as she said it was an illegal method. As if!

If you check out their website, it makes for interesting reading. It built my hopes up briefly, until I tried and then spoke to them.
