i have the same problem on OSX...with 2 112 OTB im stucked at the 112 upgrade after jailbreaking and activate.

i used the 112 firmware to upgrade a 111 revirginized a few days ago and it worked perfectly.
    strange...

i am downloading itunes 7.5 just to check

i consider redownloading 112 fm, although i cant figure out why it would change anything

I haven't found an answer to that. I tried restarting (duh), reinstalling, uninstalling completely (including all Apple software, install files and even all related entries in my registry). I then tried with earlier versions of iTunes - 7.32 first, but you need at least 7.4 to upgrade anyway so that was also a waste of time.

I tried dutifully with all USB ports (as suggested on Apple website). Also tried with a USB hub for what it's worth... :| Tried the USB 1 ports on an old 300 MHz Thinkpad I have lying around but got the same bullshit error. Took me four hours just to prep it enough to install iTunes on

The strange thing is that the only time I got this error was when trying to 'update' from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 - there was no problem whatsoever 'restoring' to that firmware, or downgrading from original state to 1.1.1. iTunes is a dog of a program.

Anyway after having spent a great many hours trying to get that going, I visited a friend with Vista on his new notebook, did a fresh install of iTunes 7.5 and it worked first go.

Let Apple quietly fix it in their next version of iTunes. Trust me, it's not worth the effort. Just go update on someone else's computer.
