112OTB - Stealth Problem - What are my options?
Hi.....would appreciate some guidance.
112OTB, jailbroken and unlocked (if that's the right terminology?)....and have been happily using a stealthsim for a couple of months now. I was getting the odd intermittent 'No Sim' problem, which was solved by rebooting.
Today the stealthsim seems to have given up, permanent 'No Sim' displayed. Tried removing and re-seating etc, no joy.
What are my options? I went with the stealth as at that time there was no way of soft unlocking the 112OTB....is this still the case? I realise things have moved on in the past few weeks, but struggle to keep abreast of the developments.......
....my question is whether or not I can now unlock the unit/upgrade to 113 and get the phone use without using the stealthsim? ....and if so, I'd really appreciate a link to somewhere I can follow instructions.

haha, was hoping you might say that
right, while I was waiting on a helpful nudge in the right direction I had another good read around here (should have done that first I hear you cry!)......so, best/easiest way of doing it?
upgrade via itunes to 113 and then ziphone 2.3?

go on.....just another wee nudge from someone confirming and I'll go and do it!

Yes you can upgrade to 1.1.3 if you want to but it would be better if you "RESTORE" to 1.1.3.Less problems with ziphone. And then just follow the iclarified guide to activate, jailbreak, unlock.
Or you can just do ziphone -u and live happily ever after with an unlocked 1.1.2
First ever Apple product I bought : iPhone.

Yes, you should RESTORE (in case you wan't 1.1.3) , that way MANY problems regarding installer.app and updated 3'rd party programs will not hit you.

so.....if i don't want to upgrade yet...I can just unlock using ziphone? Is this done simply by checking only the unlock box in ziphone?

There was a thread yesterday about the same issue that you have. And those guys just unlocked there 1.1.2 iphones by ziphone -u in cmd and it worked for them and got rid of the stealthsim.
You should read that thread.Should be on second or third page.
