Before doing this, please read here: http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=12883
Reasons:
These steps are very easy once you are familiar with Winscp. My iphone is 100% working (wifi, youtube, maps, no slowness, brightness, sound, etc). I have heard a lot of problems with other guides such as iNdependence and TouchFree. By no means I am saying that my guide is better than other but this guide gives you FULL CONTROL when you are doing the 1.1.1 jailbreaking which is very nice and easily reversible.
Before you attempt this guide, make sure:
1. You have a STRONG WIFI signal. <-------- This one is SERIOUS.
NOTE: Refer to page 2 for troubleshooting (username: Deadstick)
Also, please post up if you succeeded in unlocking your 1.1.1 with this guide. I will not answer questions that can be answered by reading this guide thoroughly. I will only reply to problems and correction of this guide. Thanks everyone.

OUT OF THE BOX 1.1.1 OR RE-VIRGINIZED IPHONE----- Starts Here:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have 1.1.1 out of the box (the likely case), you need to downgrade to 1.0.2. If you have a proper revirginized iphone, do a normal restore to 1.0.2 and connect to iBrickr after that.
1. Connect your iphone and open iBrickr. Follow the steps to downgrade to 1.0.2
2. After the downgrade, follow the steps to jailbreak your currently 1.0.2 iphone.
3. After successful jailbreak, navigate through the fake iphone to /usr/libexec and copy the patched lockdown file for 1.0.2
4. Restart your iphone (if you don't know how to restart, microwave your oven and don't ever buy an iphone anymore)
5. After restart you should be at the spring board of your iphone (because of the patched lockdown file)
6. Use the ibrickr, select Applications and follow the on screen guide.
7. After successful installation of Applilcations, install the following:
a. BSD Subsystem
b. OpenSSH
c. Services (optional)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: Run PACAY on your jailbroken 1.0.2 so that Youtube will work after 1.1.1 is done.
IPSF/anySIM 1.1 firmware 1.0.2 Unlocked or OUT OF THE BOX 1.0.2 (jailbroken, ssh, bsd, patched lockdownd installed )--- Starts Here:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Install Winscp to your computer
2. Go to settings on your iphone, set autolock to Never, connect to a Wifi and clilck the arrow button and write down your IP address
3. Open Winscp and try connecting to your IP address with username: root and pw: dottie, choose SCP under file protocol instead of the default SFTP.
4. If you can't connect to your iphone using Winscp, do not continue to the next step and wait for an easier guide or find better wifi.
5. If you can connect, close winscp and connect to Itunes.
6. In iTunes, make sure you see the button "Update" (above "restore") is clickable and do NOT click it yet. KEEP ITUNES RUNNING for the next few steps below.
7. At this point, you have iTunes running, open putty and connect to the iphone the same way as Winscp except you don't have to choose the file protocol. Type root and hit enter. Type dottie (will not be visible on putty) and hit enter.
8. Type:
mv /var/root/Media /var/root/Media.old
ln -s / /var/root/Media
9. Go back to iTunes, hold down SHIFT and click UPDATE. Choose the 1.1.1 firmware file that you have saved on your desktop. Let your iphone get updated to 1.1.1, sit back and watch some CSI:Miami.
10. After update, open the folder JailbreakWindows which you have unzipped from the download list above that is marked by **. Clilck iPhuc-jailbreak.
11. On iPhuc-jailbreak, type in "ls" , and make sure you see 'dev' among the list of directories and you do NOT have iTunes_Control (if you do you have to go restore back to 1.0.2)
12. If you pass step #11, type this in iphuc-jailbreak:
putjailbreak rdisk0s1 /dev/rdisk0s1
13. and then type this:
getfile /etc/fstab fstab
14. Go back to your JailbreakWindows folder and open the file called fstab with notepad. You should see the options for / to be 'rw' instead of 'ro'. If you still see 'ro', then something's gone wrong, restart your iPhone normally and then try again step #12 and #13.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
IF YOU PASS #14, continue here:
15. Go to JailbreakWindows folder and run sshify-windows.bat, follow the on screen instruction.
16. Go to the same folder and run installapps.bat, follow the on screen instruction.
17. Reboot your phone or you'll get "Connection refused" when you try to connect with ssh.
22. Connect to the iphone using winscp, with username: root and new password: alpine and run the following commands (by pressing CTRL+T):OPTIONAL STEPS:
18. Turn off auto lock at this point to prevent SSH from disconnecting continuously. Slide for Emergency Call, type in *#307#, press Call and then delete the number using the <x on top, type 0, hit Answer, hit HOLD, hit decline and it will take you to the "Phone" section of your iphone where there is contacts, favourite, recents, keypad, voicemail.
19. Create a fake person name and under URL, type in prefs://, hit save, hit done.
20. Click on the url, it will take you back to Settings, choose the correct wifi, make sure the IP address is still the same and set Auto lock to NEVER.
21. Hit the home button, it will take you to the activation page again.
cd /
chmod 755 /bin/rm
chmod 755 /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
chmod 755 /usr/bin/springpatch
rm -r /private/var/root/Library/Installer
cd /usr/bin
./springpatch
23. After that, restart your iphone (reboot).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
24. Click the .bat file from the One click activation file you have downloaded from above.
29.
a. Reboot iphone and you are free.
b. From here, install the usual stuff, community sources, bsd subsystem, openssh from installer. Install anySIM 1.1 and unlock your iphone.
c. Complete the jailbreak (BSD & OpenSSH must be installed first) by logging in back using putty and type this commands (to fix 300mb space & unable to sync):
rm /var/root/Media
mv /var/root/Media.old /var/root/Media
Optional: Install Terminal vt1000 from installer and type in "passwd" on the terminal. Put in your new password twice. The next time you use winscp, use the new password to log in.
note: if it says file not found, it's ok, just continue this two command is to remove the symlink. Try by syncing your iphone to your itunes and if you could sync you are fine.
