Why bother with Terminal? I did it through putty when I was done and it worked fine.

i have terminal installed, i run it but i cant type anything on the screen.
what would prevent me from typing letters??

i would like to reset my password too but when i try to type letters nothing comes on the screen at all.
any ideas why?

Like many, I applied a non-IPSF sim lock, though i paid for the IPSF license during the 'trash' days. I decided to do the baseband fix / virginize, finally used the IPSF, and then your guide.

I must say, it took me 20 minutes all together (once I got all the stuff dowloaded).

if i press letters on my keypad, nothing appears on screen, i pysically can not input any data into the console.

you need to have bsd installed. what you see there "No such file or directory" means it cannot find a shell to open for you (sh, bash ...whatever)

you will see bsd base, extra ...
download it. extract it to a folder on your PC, MAC whatever.
Look inside. You will see bunch of command. those commands are unix commands that you find on Linux, Mac OSX, Unix.. Those binary are compiled for the iphone.

The iphone is Unix-based.

uname -a at the prompt will give you: (running Darwin on ARM processor)

This should be a sticky. I unlocked several iphones without issues.

However, in all the phones I unlocked, the Edge settings option is not available. Under General/Network only VPN and Wifi exist. I tried my berry sim which uses GPRS and works fine (slow), but still could not see the settings.

When I use my Bberry sim, E logo appears indicating Edge is on, but it actually does not work.

I have searched the forum, but only found stuff on how to change the settings and keep them permanent. I have not found someone with my problem, where the option does not exit to start with.

I am not sure if this is related to using this method or not.
