    Default [1.1.x][Battery drain] after ZiPhone

    I have checked this error:
    0. Upgraded from 1.1.1 to 1.1.3, previously unlocked using AnySIM 1.1.1
    1. Activate, Jailbreak and Unlock with ZiPhone...
    2. Restoring, everything goes fine until...
    3. A week after unlocked, I turned Flight Mode on...
    4. Turn it back off, something got wrong, NO SERVICE displayed...
    5. Restarted the phone, everything "seems to be ok".
    6. Battery began to drain pretty fast (less than 14 hr).
    7. I noticed the "USAGE" timer after telephone being in standby and it was counting all the time, non-stop.
    8. Veredict is WiFi is running full time, even on Standby, so is draining bettery.
    9. Have restored, reconfigured, turning on, off Flight mode several times... only way to maintain battery is turning WiFi off.
    10. Would like to know if someone can check this or has this problem also and tell Zibri to make corrections.

Any sugestions on how to solve this without having to downgrade BB going to 1.0.2 will be appreciated.

    Salu2.

EDIT!: Check threads ahead for solutions. By today (March 7), the problem is completly erradicated after 7 days of testing... somehow it went away as fast as it came... Im almost sure that leaving WiFi off for a complete day may help solving this.
Other solution may be restoring to 1.1.4 solved it (may be the baseband upgrade)... But I need people to verify which is the REAL solution.

Hi. Just fixed it... No Bluetooth was off. The thing here is I turned OFF and then back to ON the option "Ask to Join Networks".... somehow it fixed the "auto-off" from wifi when in standby, so when I turned it back to ON voilá, fixed.

Thanks anyway. I think this is an easy step to try for a lot of people out there having trouble with their Battery Draining after ZiPhone

EDIT: The problem is back again!

I've ziphoned several 1.1.3's and no drain problem. does this happen only with 1.1.1OTB upgraded to 1.1.3, then ziphoned?

Also, did you have to virginize your 1.1.1 before upgrading to 1.1.3?

    My phone goes like this:
    1.0.2 OTB unlocked then
    1.1.1 then
    Virignize then
1.1.1 unlocked... very stable, ANY problems here after several months... then
    1.1.3 unlocked
Only problem here is sporadically after a week of everything running allright, as described above, after tht, battery began draining... this morning I thought I had it solved, but back again 5 muntes ago the WiFi signal is on all the time draining battery.
Another sympthom: Usage times suddenly dissapeared as if I had the phone placed in its dock for a while.

I read somebody having a similar problem, with battery draining and error in usage timing after ZiPhone...

I wonder if reverting unlocking and jailbreaking and unlocking downgrading and again upgrading and unlocking may solve it... or may finllay kill it.

In fact its not aprobelm that I want to kill myself, I just have to turn wifi off and thats it, but will appreciate a solution that will let me use Wifi Handsfree.

So If anybody has similar problems with battery drainig post here, thanks.

    I have the solution:

Force exit your MAIL APP everytime you are done reading your mail. I had the same problem as you and this fixed it. The first night I jailbroke 1.1.3 I left my phone off the charger and in the morning the battery was almost dead...

How to force quit? when you are in mail app press and hold the home button till you go back to the desktop.

    Try it and post results.

Have a phone(friend´s) with the same problem. The strange thing is that when we turn ON or OFF the WI-FI, the USAGE do a reset ! And all the numbers go to "0" or "-".
Did restore and everything but still the same.

I have read somewhere here in the forum that the full battery charge cycle resets the baseband. So something is happening. Turning ON and OFF the wi-fi calls a function of the full charge cycle, that resets some settings.

Try to see if the same thing happens in your phone.

I forgot to post the reason behind the MAIL app glitch. The app constantly checks for your mails which drains the battery ... you cannot set it to manual check.
