Lightbulb [1.1.?][Problem] iPhone purchased this tuesday is a week 42??

Hey guys. This is my first post (though I've been reading the forum for a while now)... so please take it easy on me

I just bought an iPhone this tuesday from the apple store hoping it will be 1.1.2 OTB, and it turned out that it's a week 42 (???) (the 4th and 5th digit of the serial is 42). From one of the posts here I see that all iPhones after week 45 are 1.1.2 OTB BL4.6... Is it possible that the one I just got have BL3.9?? I asked one of the sales people and they said it's mostly likely a 1.1.2 OTB though. Thanks for helping me!

mate, I am in the same situation with you.

I bought a week 41 phone from Apple stoer a week ago. I'd confirmed thru BBInfo that it indeed has a 3.9 bootloader. However, I have problem using my own SIM, even after anySIM unlocked the phone successfully.

Probably you can try keying this number on your phone pad *3001#12345#* and press dial. Get to the version and see what firmware is it, if it's 04.01.13_G, it's probably a 1.1.1 OTB.
GeoHotz should be running for Person of the Year!

Was your firmware 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 when you just got the phone? I think it might be a good idea to try a legit sim card without unlocking, just to make sure that there's nothing wrong with the phone itself...

I haven't opened the box yet and am now afraid to do so... I hope apple did not sell us refurbished phones...

How likely is it to have a 1.1.1OTB with BL3.9 that's not s/w unlockable? Actually, can someone tell me what are my chances to have a BL3.9 phone given that the serial=7t741xxxxxxxx with imei=011301xxxxxxxxxxx purchased from apple retail store on Jan 29?

I want to know before I open the box because if it's not unlockable in the near future I might have to return it... Thanks a lot :p
