Default [1.1.4] Ziphoned > now iPhone wont work

So I had 1.1.2 until last night when i read about Orblive and decided i wanted it so i upgraded to 1.1.4 and ziphoned to a-j-u.

    Phone, calls in/out, text in/out - WORKS
    Safari, Youtube, Installer, Maps,WiFi- WORKS
Games, NES, Calculator, Stock, Wheather - WORKS

Ipod - DOESNT WORK, tries to open but closes right after.
Itunes - Doesnt work , Tries to open but closes right after.
Camera - Can view from the camera viewfinder and snap pictures, but the pics dont save and just show as black screens.

My phone also isnt showing up when hooked up to itunes on my pc.
One weird thing is my NESroms from before i restored were still installed after i upgraded to 1.1.4.
MXtube also doesnt let me save videos just closes when trying to download.
This is why i think somethings wrong with the hard drive ive looked and searched but havent found any1 with the same problem.
Any insight or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

After you restored did you restore your iphone from a backup in itunes? If so you shouldn't have done this as it can cause havoc on your iphone. You should just restore, use iLiberty+ to jailbreak and activate (much safer than ziphone) and then in itunes set up your iphone as a new iphone, do not restore from backup. You are probably also going to have to put your iphone into restore or dfu mode for itunes to pick it up and restore it.
    Hope this helps

    Yea, just start from scratch.
Put your iPhone in DFU mode. To get this, do:
    1. hold power + home
    2. in a few sec, red slider appears, continue holding til phone reboot
    3. count to 6
    4. let go power
    5. keep holding home until itunes detect it or if you hear a connection tone (like plugging in a usb device on Windows), let go of home.

Screen should be black all the time beginning at step 3

If itunes say it need to check for "... version on the server..", let it check, after that you will see the restore button. shift-click restore (Option-click on Mac) and select the 1.1.4 FW.

You are on locked 1.1.4 firmware then. Use iLiberty on Mac or Windows to jailbreah, activate and unlock.
Then connect to iTunes and set the iPhone up as a new iPhone, never use the backup option in this case. Will screw up things. Do your Sync options, sync and use Installer app to get the apps you want.

i had a similar problem.... i went upgrade in iTunes to 1.1.4, then ZiPhone OS X v3 for Activate, Jailbreak, Unlock.

everything seemed fine, but then i had to restore from an iTunes backup? why was this necessary if i only upgraded? did soemthing go wrong during the upgrade that it needed to restore, i thought the upgrade was just that, a simple upgrade?

well after all that, the phone works fine, but iPod says that there's no music on there, except in iTunes it shows as the space being used (full) but it's listed as 'other'. I was thinking of just deleting the music from the iPhone then re-syncing to put it back on there properly? what do you think?

otherwise looks like i'll restore to 1.1.4 and start over...

    thanks for any tips.

Restore to 1.1.4. Then use iLiberty to jailbreak/activate/unlock. If you wanna make sure to get rid of all "old stuff" goto DFU mode

    1. hold power + home
    2. in a few sec, red slider appears, continue holding til phone reboot
    3. count to 6
    4. let go power
    5. keep holding home until itunes detect it or if you hear a connection tone (like plugging in a usb device on Windows), let go of home.

If itunes say it need to check for "... version on the server..", let it check, after that you will see the restore button. shift-click restore (Option-click on Mac) and select the 1.1.4 FW.

When done, use iLiberty. After that connect to iTunes to setup sync opzions. iTunes will ask you if you want to restore the iphone from the backup (data from previous version you had, prefernces etc). DONT do it, set up as a new iPhone. Otherwise you may get back files/preferences or other stuff from your old setup that leeds to problems.

let me know if it works for you

Yea i would do what volks told me to do too, jus start from scratch. I was back up running 1.1.4 within 15 minutes. One tip though would be when using iLiberty make sure you go to advanced options and add the Installer, it will save you the time of haveing to re-liberty your iphone because cydia works but its nice to have both cydia and installer

This happened to me when I choose to restore backup data from iTunes. Always start fresh as a new device after jailbreak.
