    Secretmrx,
    Can I step in and offer my opinion to OP while you are thinking ...

    @doobymoo,
    Something you did went awfully wrong during the process ...and I can only put the blame on ziphone 3.0.

    Like secretmrx said, if it was "never" a 1.0.2 unlocked iphone, then you don't need to virginize. How you get that baseband on the phone, I don't know.

    Your phone now has the matching OS fw 1.1.4 and BB fw 04.04.05_G, that is good. The 1012 error you got happened when? during the restore of 1.1.4 ??

    Go into the phone, settings, general ,about and give us the FW version, modem version. Is the IMEI and ICCID missing ? If so, we can probably rectify that problem. Please get back to us.

    The 1012,1015 type errors in iTunes would occur sometimes when trying to downgrade from 1.1.4 to any previous firmware (different depending on the firmware being downgraded to). I'm not at home right now so I can't go into specifics but I know the IMEI and ICCID are there and valid when I have a sim installed into the phone.

    the IMEI should be there regardless if you have a SIM or not.
    The ICCID appears when you have a SIM. Please check again when you can to see if your IMEI is there. And give us all info I asked for in previous post.

    Yes, it's sim-less now and the IMEI is there and valid. ICCID is blank.

    Version: 1.1.4 (4A102)
    Modem FW: 04.04.05_G

    Cool

    Been watching from the shadows now for a bit. I see that he ( the OP ) used ziphone. I am asumming your bootloader is 3.9 no? Well you could try restoring to 1.0.2 now, loading a older version of installer ( the newer one is not fit for that firmware) virginizing and seeing if that brings back your signal. My other suggestion would be brick tool or trying to go to 3.8bl and back but I guess you can't seeing as how you lack 4.6bl last but not least you could use wifi to downagrade the baseband via installer....

    I actually managed to get fw 1.0.2 on to it successfully in my attempts to get it working. I'm not familiar with the virginizing process although I remember seeing an app in installer with that title. I've downgraded the baseband via installer in the past too although I can't remember which forum post/guide I was listening to at the time. I'll give it all another go later on though.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

    Question... if you run ieraser or you use the ziphone's option of erasing baseband... and then do a restore to the fw level you want, isnt's that the same as running virginizer before upgrading?

    Just a question...

    Thanks!
