Default [1.1.4][Solved] Apple Recover (iBoot) USB Driver Error

Have been trying to fix a friends phone....he did an update to 2.0 which was on 1.1.4...but the problem is...the phone looks like its in restore/dfu mode but everytime the iphone is connected to the computer, "Apple Recover (iBoot) USB Driver" shows up as an error in Device Manager.

Since its not connecting to the computer, i cant restore or kick out of recovery...anyone have any suggestions?

okay..if anyone has this problem in the future...here is what i did wrong and how i fixed it...

when i connected the iphone to my comp, i had itunes 7.6.2.9 installed....the old itunes did not like the new 2.0 software so it wasnt picking up on the PC.

    1. installed new itunes 7.7 and no device errors

    2. did update restore to 2.0 with no errors...

    3. uninstalled itunes 7.7 and put back itunes 7.6

    4. put phone into DFU mode

    5. restored back to 1.1.4 with 1015 error

hopefully u know what to do from here...
