the mac version is different on the payload part and I don't know much about it. Let me see if I find something.

Hi,
Thank you. Even though I am quite happy with mi ibook G4, there are times I wish I could have a PC. That's why in the future I may get a Mac Book that allows for the two platforms.
I found this link. It was written mainly for PC users, I don't know if it may also be helpful for Mac users, specially the link to the ".tar" files.
Thank you very much,
igmolinav.

Hi,
I have been able to install Bootneuter.
My Bootloader's version is: 4.6
The Neuter is: On
The Fakeblank is: Off
The Baseband is set to unlock: On
What do you think about the current setting of my Bootloader and baseband, is it ok to run Swifi ??
I am looking for an application to transfer Swifi to the iPhone from my ibook G4. Are terminal and BSD also necessary if Swifi has to be run ??
Thank you,
igmolinav.

Ok. Your settings are fine except Fakeblank needs to be on for swifi to be able to run correctly. And yes BSD Subsystem is neccesary for almost anything in Terminal. You need Term-vt100 or an ssh shell to run swifi, and the easiest way go transfer the swifi binary is through SFTP OR SCP. There are many great tutorials for this, the search function is your friend

Hi,
Thank you for your answer.
I'll turn fakeblank on, but should I also downgrade the bootloader to version 3.9. I know I can download it to 3.9 and add fakeblank with one easy step through iLiberty+ ??
I transferred previously Bootneuter to my iPhone using ifuntastic. I have been able to do the same with Term-vt100. For both applications there is an icon on my iPhone's screen now. When I double-click on Bootneuter a screen with the settings of my bootloader and baseband appears. However, when I double-click on Term-vt100 only a "black or dark" screen appears, no command may be asked or given, is that right ??
I wonder if an easy-to-use program like ifuntastic could also transfer BSD, and swifi ??
I am also learning to use "Fugu", a program that apparently can transfer through SFTP, SCP, SSH. I have also thought on installing "Open SSH" and "BSD with Cydia" through iLiberty+, what do you think ??
In this link, that was previously posted in this thread,
http://aakash-bapna.blogspot.com/200...ayed-wifi.html
one is suggested to use a payload that has the four programs needed to "run the swifi process". These programs are: Bootneuter, BSD, Term vt-100, and Swifi. They come bundled up together in a ".tar" file. I opened this ".tar" file on my desktop. I double-clicked on these four elements, and found the elements that had an application or ".app" at the end. These were two out of the four: Bootneuter and Term-vt100 which were sent to my iPhone through ifuntastic.
It would have been very easy for me to have sent "once and for all" to the iPhone the payload with the four elements through iLiberty+. The only reason why I did not do that is because I was suggested in this thread to have Bootneuter installed before installying anything else in order to check the settings of the Bootloader and the Baseband. I wonder if the files that were not used, (BSD and Swifi), can be bundled up again in a ".tar" file. I mean, I'm not knowledgeable on the subject. What I am intending to do, is to add the ending ".tar" to the folder with the remaining elements that I need, (BSD and Swifi), with their archives with endings ".zip" and ".sh" and upload it with iLiberty+. However the very "ideal move" would have been to have sent the payload with the "four elements" to the iPhone using iLiberty+. What do you think ?? - I call it the "ideal move" because everything inside the ".tar" file has the "ingredients" in ".zip" format PLUS "the instructions" in ".sh" format. So this "pie/cake" gets cooked by itself when one sends "ingredients PLUS the instructions", right ??
I go now to set the fakeblank to On. Thank you very much again, kind regards,
igmolinav
P.S. Thank you for your patience, I hope my writing has not confused you a lot.
