Yesterday , in the middle of nowhere ( or maybe while opening an SMS ) my 16GB 1.1.4 iphone unlocked with Iplus2.0, stopped working and put itself in recovery mode ( the usb cable to connect to itunes pic ) . The phone won't do a reset ( holding both the sleep and the home button ) . I've tried both Ibrikr and Iliberty to take the phone out of its state but with no success. Luckily Itunes would recognize the recovery mode and I was able to do a restore, clicking on the restore button. Just to make sure I then put the phone in DFU mode and did a second restore 1.1.4. As a final result my phone was unactivated again ............. but still UNLOCKED (in fact at the "slide to emergency screen I was able to dial a number and make a regular call!!! ) . At this point I just used Iliberty+ to only Jailbreak and Activate the phone.
I may have missed something , but was my phone supposed to relock itself after a clean restore in DFU mode, since it has originally been unlocked with Iplus2.0 ?!?!?!

The unlock happens on the baseband.

Since you are on 1.1.4 itunes will only restore the FW not the baseband because you are on the latest version.

Thats why you will remain unlocked if you restore on 1.1.4
