And, should I ever need to restore the iphone in the future do I need to run iplus [-u] again or just iplus. Thank you for your time and I hope these questions are not too basic.

You just stepped over a bug.... there was leftover code in the ramdisk to test the downgrade "pass 0" and for an extra "unlock".

A new version is already uploading to rapid.....
