hmm the reason why I said try again is because it sometimes takes a few tries with some phones. You said it worked but you just get that error? Check your phone and make sure every thing is ok just in case

I have a brand new 1.1.3 otb that i restored to 1.1.4 prior to using iPlus 2.0 to unlock for use in Switzerland. Everything seemed to be working fine but upon completion of the process I got:

    "Could not enable SSL".

I tried this three times (Restore and iPlus) on a MacBook Pro and once on a Dual G5, both on OS 10.4.10.

I also noticed the following error messages but I don't know whether there is any connection:

    2008-03-10 23:40:48 +0100 Installing BSD Subsystem
    2008-03-10 23:40:48 +0100 Please wait...

    2008-03-10 23:40:57 +0100 Installing OpenSSH...

    in console.log I found:

Mar 10 23:41:59 Bruno ./iphuc: Could not perform SSL handshake\n
Mar 10 23:42:00 Bruno ./iphuc: Could not perform SSL handshake\n

Phone works fine but when I try to log into my gmail account it predictably says "cannot connect using SSLů"

Can anybody help? I would greatly appreciate it.

You will need to use a mac with an intel processor until iPlus is upgraded to work on ppc processors. I also had errors using iPlus on a non-intel Powerbook G4 and I could not fully jailbreak until I ran the software on an intel-based Powerbook.

Edit - iPhone has just been updated to version 2.0 which is compatible with ppc processors. Are you using version 2.0?

The SSL error is not a problem. It's a message by the iTunes library.

    Just ignore it.

If available you may find additional details by expanding each node into its subnodes. To open or collapse node just double-click the name of the node or alternatively click or next to the name of the node. As you browse through tree structure of nodes and subnodes in Navigation Window you may find various details for each node shown in Description Window. If you browse through items in Description Window additional details for each item may be displayed in Details Window.

    Apologies!

I had POP disabled in my gmail account settings. When I saw the "Could not enable SSL" message, and the Mail setup did not work it felt logical that this was related. Now I feel stupid for not checking right away.

    Thank you for your support.
