OK, my report now...

I just received, yesterday, my 1.1.2 week 48 OTB (yeah, I know, it's been more than three months, the wait was painful but it's over).

Steps completed:

1- DFU
2- Shift restore 1.1.4 (iTunes 7.6.1, Windows Vista)
3- Simply "iplus -u" (with payload_BR.zip renamed to payload.zip)
4- Some scare text feedbacks (Unpacking Brazil support kit... Cannot change ownership to uid 0, gid 0: Function not implemented)
5- Went to get a coffee, 5 minutes later a last restart
6- EVERYTHING WORKING FINE
. - Wifi connect ok
. - SIM (Brasil Telecom GSM) ok
. - Locate Me ok (nice!)
. - Youtube working flawlessly (WOW!!!)
. - Installer ok, VT100 nice ok, Openssh ok (Putty connected)
. - Payload customizations ok (PT_BR language, Brazil's carriers settings, Caller ID)

Everything working like - as people at Hackint0sh says - a charm !!!!!!

I wonder if people's bad experiences with issues like wifi, youtube, no signal, etc., are not caused by prior messing with the phone (Zibrick, IPSF, AnySIM, iNdependence)... Mine was just OTB directly for step one above. Today I'll unlock an 1.1.3 4GB OTB certified Apple refurbished... lol ... I'll just post then.


Have some hundred questions in mind now, which I'll answer myself by reading the forums!!!

Just one question I' like to share: How in the world I could ever manage to live without this little piece until now?????? :p

ok i have to ask this because it 's getting confusing after reading endless hours. I got a 16gb phone on 5/3/2008 from london,UK. firmware is 04.03.13_G..serial No 88808 (are the first 5 numbers).. i m not pretty sure about the bootloader (if someone could tell me i would be grateful).
so, i read about unlock with iplus but it says in many forums that it is for 1.1.4 "only*!?!?!??i don t get that!..and say that it is for all previous versions as well...why does this tutorial says to restore to 1.1.4??..i mean i and most people are on 1.1.3! ...does this method imply that u upgrade to 1.1.4 and iplus does the work?? (by the way restore means upgrade right?)

please reply..i m newbie,sleepless and desperate

First of all you have the 4.6 BL.

You need to have 1.1.4 firmware installed in order to use iPlus. You should restore to 1.1.4 in iTunes (http://www.hackthatphone.com/114/iph...k_windows.html describes the whole process very well). When you retsore and run iplus it will do everything for you...activate, jailbreak and unlock. You just sit and wait.

ok ..i have another question too. i also have a 1.1.1 with serial 7U744.. if i use the same PC to make 1.1.4 will it affect the older phone settings when connected?? how can i upgrae the 1.1.1 -->1.1.4? do i have to virginize first,upgrade through itunes and then follow the same process with iplus on the 1.1.3 OTB ??

you can upgrade the 111 to 114 the same way you'd be upgrading your 113. make sure when you restore and not update the phone to wipe everything off the phone and start with a clean slate. you only have to virginize certain unlocked 1.0.2 phones before updating

and i dont' think you can use itunes 7.6 with 1.1.1 but i may be wrong here
