Got a new otb 1.1.3 iphone. Used iplus 2. to unlock. Worked fine with me! No problems so far.

Had trouble with restoring as i am new to this. So searched for method to restoring easily.

Once restored to 1.1.4 . used hackthatphone tutorial which was easy.

    Unlocked less than 5 minutes.

    Thank you aviegas

??? I jailbreaked, unlocked and activated a 1.1.3 phone using iPlus 2.0 and everything seems to work fine ???

I received an iPhone bought in NYC after the launch of 1.1.4. I put it on its dock, but iTunes didn't tell me what version it was running, neither proposed an upgrade to 1.1.4 (maybe because I had no internet connexion) - so I thought it was a 1.1.4 OOB.

Tried to run iClarified tuto, but didn't go far: no idea if the libreadline was installed and nothing was happening when typing the the iPlus -u command in Terminal... Made several tries (quiting Terminal every time) nothing was happening. Was about to quit, made one last try with HackThatPhone tuto: typed cd desktop/iPlus2.0 ./iplus -u and BOOM, it started!

Five minutes later it was done. I put my Swiss SIM card and EVERYTHING is working: got network, YouTube, sms... Install and Terminal are there... I synchronized my data... made a call.

And THEN, I discovered that my phone was running 1.1.3 !!!??? HOW COME?

Is it stable or a dangerous monster? Is that reversible?!!

I had been using a OTB 1.1.2 in India for more than a month. (I had downgraded to 1.1.1 and used iclarified tutorial to unlock).

Upon seeing the iplus2.0, I decided to give it a shot to updagade. I did a DFU, Restore to 1.1.4 (directly from 1.1.2) using iTunes 7.6.1 and then used iplus -u with International Payload. I get a message that iplus 2.0 completed. But when the phone reboots, is still jailed/unlocked - slide for emergency. I have tried restoring and repeating couple of times - no luck. Then, I tried using the default payload. The phone is jailbroken, WiFi, Youtube, installer works fine, But phone would not work with my Aircel SIM. I downloaded the iplus files yday(12 Mar).

One thing I noticed in the iphone screen while Pass 2 started (while using Intl Payload), I did not get messages similar to that shown on screenshots in Hackthatphone - Unlocking the phone.... Unlocking completed... Activating iphone etc.. After it says is it Unpacking Main Payload, it pauses and I see Applications/Preferences.app.

Any idea what is going on?

Nothing unusual there - many Apple stores would still have iPhones with 1.1.3 on them - I just received 2 iPhones and they had 1.1.3 - IF you had iTunes running and IF you had an Internet connection then iTunes would have shown you the option to Update to 1.1.4.

When you next have an Internet connection do aN UPDATE TO 1.1.4 and then run iPlus2 again and all will be well.

    Thanks!

But... really? I mean, everything is working! Shouldn't I keep it like that until the next big update?! I didn't really understand why it wasn't launching anything and then suddenly did everything in 5min, so not sure I can do it again

Btw, is there a way for me to check if the libreadline and the international payload have been loaded?

An update? I thought we were supposed to never update, but run a *Restore* process instead...

Default SwePhone vs. iPlus international payload?

    Hi all!

I know that this question concerns a very "narrow" area, using the iPhone in Sweden, but I hope it is OK to ask it in this thread anyway.

I haven't gotten my phone yet, so unfortunately I cannot test this myself.

The question is which payload, "normal" or "international" should I use? It might seem obvious, but please read on.

I know that the international payload adds information necessary for using (among other) the phone function in countries not officially supported.
As I understand it this is done by patching app support (using the solution by Tim Schuerewegen).

SwePhone is a utility that is added using the installer and it makes changes to the phone to add menus in Swedish, Swedish dictionaries etc. SwePhone also uses Tims solution to fix app support.

I am wondering if there is a risk that these two updates to app support will somehow make a mess for each other? If international payload first patches app support and then SwePhone comes in and does some patching using the same tools, is there a risk for problems?

Would it maybe be better to use "normal payload" and then run SwePhone to add the Swedish stuff?
