It came with Bootloader 3.9 and still has it. Short explanation: Starting at around week 44 last year (as far as I remember) iPhones had OOTB firmware 1.1.2 with Bootloader 4.6. Some Unlock methods for those downgrade the Bootloader to 3.9. So, your's is the original - fine. Modem firmware matches firmware 1.1.4, Wi-fi tells us that it is original (Apples numbers start with those), fine aswell.

So, if this would be my iPhone, I would use it as is for now and wait for July 11th, see what happens.

If you cant wait, you can DFU restore (search the forum please on how-to get into DFU mode) the iPhone to 1.1.4. Will be locked then. You can use this tutorial then to jailbreak, activate and unlock your iPhone.

    Hope that helps

Thanks for the help! I think ill take your advice and wait til the new firmware comes out.

One more question though, I recently changed the IMEI using ZiPhone about a week ago, has there been any issues w/ the iPhone screwing up from doing this? Also if i did restore my phone, would it change the IMEI # back to the original # ?

Happens to me every now and then that the "Go for it" button is greyed. In all cases (at least here) I only had to disconnect the iphone and then reconnect it to the PC. You should hear that typical Windows sound when connecting a USB device.
During the process iLiberty need recovery mode but will prompt you on how to do this.

I have never used this but would think, once you restore it will be gone. But as I said I have never tried that. No need for me plus it's illegal in some countries.

Have never had this error message. Did you use the latest version of iLiberty? Give it a try and de-install iLiberty (via software) and dont forget to delete folder iLiberty in Programm Files. Then re-install the software and give it one more try.

    Sorry

    sorry for the confusion...
    I got the phone unlocked.

realised I forgot to restore it before updating. And thus, the memory was like kinda "write protected". restored it and it worked like a charm.
    Thanx

Yeah I needed to because I have a demo/employee line and they turn off people's services for using iPhone data, i can always get my service turned back on through my account rep. but its just a hassle i rather not go through.

For future reference, while doing the unlocking process, do i have to use wifi for the process or can i use the phone's internet?

    Thanks

As for this tutorial you need internet access on your PC for the initial download of the payloads described is steps 1.1-1.12. Once you did this, you have them sitting on your PC and dont need an Internet for the PC again. You need Internet access on the iPhone.

    hope that helps

    Default This tutorial for Mac-users

I got couple pm's from Mac users asking for a Mac version of the tutorial. Thats pretty easy, here you go.

The tutorial is made for Windows users. It will work for Mac users aswell, it's even easier, fewer steps to get it done

If you dont have it already, get iLiberty for Mac here

    1. Connect your iPhone to the Mac.
    2. Start iLiberty and hit the tab "Utilities".
    3. Hit the button "Download" right from "Relocate Fonts and Ringtones" and "International Payload for 1.1.4".
    4. After downloading both Payloads will be activated via checkbox
    5. Goto tab "Main".
    6. Activate (check box) "Jailbreak" (already activated) and "Activate" - nothing else!
    7. Hit "Free my 8GB iPhone!" or "Free my 16GB iPhone"
    8. Continue at step 2.11 in the workshop (first post in this thread) and follow all the way to the end.

The Mac version automatically adds "Installer" and "BSD Subsystem" when jailbreaking so you are ready to rock on.

    Hope that helps,
