Default [1.1.4 (1.1.2 OTB)] How to prepare for apple store?

Hi I used iplus2.0b to unlock my 1.1.2 otb. now i need to take my phone to apple because of a battery problem. how do i set it back to a state where they will not notice hacking? i know a simple restore to 1.1.4 will not erase the unlock nor the 3.9FB bootloader, only the jailbreak and activation.
Also, how do I explain that phone has a problem when I am not activated with ATT?
    thanks!

They will verify if you are activated with AT&T.

You need to do a restore and upgrade your 3.9 to 4.6. This link tells you how to do it.

You do not need to be an AT&T customer to get service at the Apple Store (in U.S. at least). I personally returned a 8gb model to the Apple store with the original unactivated AT&T sim chip in the phone. When they questioned why the chip was unactivated, I said "I just used my own chip from my other phone." What I did not say was my "own chip" was T-Mobile USA. They took the phone with no further questions and I paid the difference to upgrade to 16gb.

I got a 16Gb about a week ago in the UK from an O2 store. I've got the negative black screen issue, so what I'm going to go is get the iPhone into a state where it won't boot, so I can then go in and tell them that when I tried to connect it to iTunes to activate it never booted.
So they should just give me a new one... I just hope the screen is better!

microwave is too dangerous as your battery might blow up. And it might physically alter the screen since its, LCD.

Putting the phone into non-boot stage is the best solution.

It is correct as you don't need a phone to be activated to return it.
But at the same time if you didn't activate your phone, it wouldn't have allowed you to use it. Inserting an ATT sim wouldn't activate your iphone.

My old experience with warranty on a 8gig phone with 4gig drive was an interesting one. Had to convince the tech that I only bought the phone for a friend and he was the one that was using it. Will ask how you know the phone is not working when it was never activated.

Never let the tech find out that you modified the files. Thats why, do a complete restore. Tampering with the files inside would have voided the warranty in some cases.

There is another way, is to walk near a powerful magnet like, the ones you see in auto salvage yards. hopefully that would have crippled the phone enough to allow it to be returned under warranty.

No it does not. We are referring to the massive database that Apple keeps track of which contains your iPhone info. When you properly activate your iPhone, it records it with the database that lists your iphone has been activated. But if you never used iTunes to activate your iphone, then apple would ask, how did you use your iphone if you never 'activated' it (properly).

If you go to O2 and say its being dodgy and your within your 30 days then they will swap it.

If you say something like the touch screen works occasionally they will just swap it for you as long as you make the point it doesnt do it all the time!

But if its past the 30 days then they will send it to Apple and you will have to wait for it back...

Either way you will get a negative black screen back as all iPhones seem to have that issue now...

If you don't believe me then you will soon!

I swapped my iPhone 6 times and got the same bad screen then I bought a 16GB and go the same negative problem so I can only assume they come like that now!
