[1.1.4 (1.0.2 OTB)] - no IMEI, forgot to virginize before upgrading
Hi All -
I bought iphone an yr back which came with 1.0.2 firmware. Cracked it & it was working fine. Couple of days ago, I upgraded it to 1.1.4 & I think the bootloader was on ver 4.4.xxx I was facing terrible issues with the phone warming up & its battery depleting within 10-12hrs. I google'd about that issue & came across this link: "Fix the battery drainage of your iPhone" (http://www.iphonetipz.com/fix-the-ba...f-your-iphone/
) by changing bootloader version from 3.9 to 4.6
It hung up somewhere in between & since then problems started.
As I've to jailbreak it again, I tried all the firmwares but when it comes to the normal mode & when I click on "i" icon to see the IMEI number: it says:
"IMEI: Unknown & CCCID: Unknown"
After that the homescreen comes with following error:
"Repair Needed. Iphone can not make or receive calls. "
I'm badly stuck with this phone. Kindly help to get me back to it with the working device. I've tried even Ziphone method to unlock it but it looks to me that as the bootloader is corrupt or missing (I guess), it will not help by upgrading or loading any firmware.
What are your opinions? How to get back the bootloader on it (if it is missing/corrupt) I can manage to get to the recovery mode of any firmware (be it 1.0.2 or 1.1.1 above)
Your expert opinions are eagerly awaited.
thanks
vik

what do you mean cracked it, if you were unlocked on 1.0.2 then you would have to virgize before going up.....

hmm did you virginize if you were unlocked on 1.0.2?
The "iPhone cannot make or recieve calls" thing often means that you dnont have a baseband or it is corrupt. Go into "Settings -> General -> About" and tell me your modem firmware/baseband version

The sad part is that I didn't virginize it. It was easily unlocked to 1.1.4 but due to battery issues, I did blunder of referring that site
Its still locked & unfortunately I'm not able to get to the Settings.

hmm, well you tried ziphone so I guess this can't hurt, do a edu restore and try and hit it with iplus 2.0

The last thing what I did was got it restored on 1.1.4 thru itunes & hve got it back in normal mode where its displaying charger icon pointing to itunes icon & below is the slide bar for emergency call & with "i" icon which when clicked says: IMEI: Unknown....
& on the top of all this this stays the error message: "Repair needed......
From here what do you suggest me? iPlus 2.0 ? Can you provide me the steps how to go for it?
I've been referring different sites of hot to solve this issue: couple of links that I came across:
1. http://iphoneindia.gyanin.com/2008/0...s-dead-phones/
2. http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=34713
I'm not sure how far are they correct. he symptoms mentioned in the link 2 are exactly matching mine. Has anyone tried this before? I'm confused with steps 3, 4, 5 as I've not worked on iPlus & I'm not able to find what tools is he referring to on step 4.
Kindly assist.
