[1.1.4 (1.0.2 OTB)] Advice: Can't get to normal mode after restoring
i have an iphone bought from ebay.
The seller said he has upgraded to 1.1.4 bought couldn't unlock it.
It is a week 38. so i assume that it would be OOB 1.0.2. I turned on the phone and it started in recovery mode. I tried the following methods.
1) Use ziphone put into dfu mode --> restore to 1.1.4 --> get error (1015)
2) ziphone -> DFU mode -> restore 1.1.1 and 1.0.2 --> ger error (1013)
3) Used www.hackthatphone.com method with ibrickr for 1.1.1 firmware --> i get to the stage where you test red or green colour. It goes red. BUT wont reboot to the activation screen.
4) iplus2 and iliberty ran and got the same problem --> the screen on the iphone will run with script and then freeeze with
"singleuser boot -- fsck not done
Root device is mounted read-only
If you want to make modification fill
/sbin/mount - uw/"
i have also used the ziphone "do it all" after restore and getting the error, it will freeze after running some script.
i tried winpwn and had the same problem as iplus 2.
From what i have read. I think that this could be a problem with the bootloader.
I know there is bootneuter out. but am not sure about bootloader. and dont want to do some reversible damage.
from the previous methods. i am able to get to the yellow triangle screen.
Thanks for any advice offered.
error 1015 means that ur firmwire baseband couldn't be flashed..
i am not sure about 1013,, but i guess those are pretty much similar with 1015, all about baseband firmwire....
what i see now, is u have Bootloader 3.9 in ur iphone,,
so then, u could try erase ur baseband first..
i usually use eziphonetools...
after that use ur itunes to Restore to 1.1.4 in DFU mode..
i guess at this point, ur itunes wouldn't give u any error message..
at this time, i suggest u to avoid any using of ziphone...
if u use windows, use ipwn, orelse use ipwn in mac...
press power button for three seconds or more and slide to power off..
thus give u a clean shutdown
turn on ur iphone back again, but this time, go directly to recovery mode,, do this by pressing both buttons until apple logo appeared and release power button ONLY
thus provide ur / (root) to be clean in any ziphone affections
after that, open ur pwn console
hit the ipwner button,,
and as soon as turbopwn launched,, pay ur attention with output messages that come after rolling scripts...
if it goes with NOR flasing.. than ur iphone is good to go to flash with custom firmwire,,
if it goes with disk0s1 failed to be mounted,, then
iplus2 ur iphone... run SSH console (winscp prefered)
if disk0s1 in hfs rw change it to hfs ro
orlese disk0s1 in hfs ro change it to hfs rw
after this do the clean shutdown again
turn ur iphone back on directly goes to recovery mode
this time, u should passed the turbopwn smoothly,,
after that, restore ur iphone with ur custom bootloader..
double posts,, bad internet connection.. sorry
btw, i still dont understand with yellow triangle parts.. what is that?

Reason: sorry for the double posts
The triangle is the restore mode icon/display that you see on 1.0.2 or older firmware.
With 1.1.1 and up, you see the CD+cable display.
From what "beha" said, I think the phone still has 1.0.2 fw on it. The OS bootloader is still from 1.0.2. It never took the fw upgrade.
Let's think ...
winpwn & iplus did not work because it requires 1.1.4
I'm wondering why iLiberty+ did not work because it supports 1.0.2 and up.
ziphone - Stay away from it.
Kick it out of recovery mode. Can the phone even boot up to the springboard ?

i noticed that winpwn requires 1.1.4

oh, for experience sharing,, i myself once use ziphone2.3 to activate iphone FW 1.0 and it worked... if u see the rollingtext scripts carefully,, u will notice a line which said what version of iphone is being used...
I understand your intentions .
IMHO, before I take that route, I would like to see if the phone can boot and get to the springboard first.
You mentioned "erase baseband first (virginizing)" ... Your thought is a little different than mine. To me, erase baseband is not virginizing.
I use the term "virginizing or revirgin" only on 1.0.2 that was unlocked with old anySIM, iUnlock where it corrupts the seczone. The tool called the virginizer corrects the corruption.
I am not familiar with ezphonetools' erase baseband. May be it is the same as the "virginizer" ??
FWIW, I think the "virginizer" must be performed first before anything else. Of course, there is so little information on this phone for me to even suggest anything. I would be interested to know what firmware was on the phone when he got it.
yes,, u're right dtube..
first thing first... identify the firmwire first...
u're not familiar with eziphonetools?? it's like the combination of ziphone and iphone-tools...
it took advantages of ziphone,, while others like 3.9FB, 4.6FB and baseband eraser/reflasher are from iphone-tools
i suggest 'beha' to use this tool,, help me much,, instead of ziphone *no offense zibri.. but i think u're way to be stubborn not to use 3.9FB...
Ahh ... I remember now (never use it though). Again, I must say that if the phone was 1.0.2 unlocked, you must use that virginizer tool to clean it up first. From there, you can go to 1.1.4.
From what you said, sounds like eziphonetools simply just erase BB, and put back the BB version of your choice. I believe that tool has the front end GUI for SoLoR's iphonetools.
let me ask this, i have 1.1.1 OTB which i unlocked it months ago... but my PC CPU had a few problems and i bought a new one. So, i try to synchronize but nothing.. it shows on itunes that it synchronizes but after 10-15 minutes i cancel it!.. should i let it more time? i use windows xp.
Should i format the iphone?and if i do, is it possible to use 1.1.4??
oh,, i see now,,
