Make sure the screen is black, and not the "plug into itunes" image.

Not sure how to insure that it'll go black, but I was able to do it yesterday, and thats when it worked [with itunes 7.5]

Not sure if this was said already, but check out this thread:

I definitely think that there is very fine line between when you enter a DFU mode and a recovery mode. I didn't even know the difference between the 2 until some ppl told me on this forum. I would really like someone who has been able to continously get into DFU mode and dowgrade their 1.1.3 iPhones to give us tip as to how THEY do it all the time cause i tried and its like a hit or miss situation depending on how long you hold the power button. So will the ppl who have been able to continously get into DFU mode on 1.1.3 iphones plz share the secret.

I followed the steps post from skb875 and the phone went to DFU mode. However, I still have the same problem while trying to restore to 1.1.1.

To put the phone in DFU mode you have to release the power button after 3-4 seconds the phone shuts down. Just try!

    Please, someone help us!
