    Oh, so -Z N also downgrades the bootloader...even worse.
    Zibri doesnt seem to test new features in his software at all...

    Straight from Ziphone source

    that's with -Z Y

    Code:
      if (Z==1) {
        unlock=true;
        jailbreak=true;
        activate=true;
        chimei=false;
        ierase=false;
        bl39=true;
        dfu=false;
      }
    and that's with -Z N

    Code:
      else if (Z==2) {
        unlock=true;
        jailbreak=true;
        activate=false;
        chimei=false;
        ierase=false;
        bl39=true;
        dfu=false;
      }
    So both -Z Y and -Z N unlock, jailbreak and downgrade the bootloader, only difference is that -Z N does not activate. Another proof that it's definitely harder to write code than steal it (even code that a 10 years old could get right after a 2 days training but that's another issue)

    Geeee yes, seems to, although i must admit i've only scripting experience and nothing C++ the only reference i see is to the values you post above (although i could mismatch because it's a real cascade of if-statements it looks like a gas-pipe ready to blow up at next modification this code) - really a pitty for those who used it, no comment to the one who wrote it of course

    if (argv[i+1][0]=='Y') {
    Z=1;
    return true;
    } else if (argv[i+1][0]=='N') {
    Z=2;
    return true;

    So, what's the big deal with the BL downgrade? The iphone is working fine, isn't it? I personally find the BL 3.9 much better than the 4.x. You can do much more things on this BL than the latest one.

    And i have one question, it there any iphone functionality / feature that you lose by downgrading the BL to 3.9?

    Please, think twice before posting such statement.

    Zibri got confused about the difference between activating and unlocking when he wrote that. And now many people are downgrading their bootloaders even though they're specifically asking ziphone *not* to do that.

    I agree with your assertion. Its important people don't downgrade bootloaders unless they know what they are doing.

    And at the moment, with all the unlocking/jailbreaking/activating that we can do already there is no real NEED for touching the bootloader at all.

    Can someone who can get in touch with zibree, to ask him to remove the bootloader downgrading from his -Z switch? Its obvious many people will want the easy method of a single command to activate/jb/unlock, but I do think the majority of they will not be wanted to downgrade their bootloaders just yet...

    Silly question, but does this affect users of the GUI?

    If a user chooses Jailbreak, Activate and Unlock but does NOT choose downgrade bootloader from the Advanced menu, does the BL still get downgraded?

    Thanks.
