[1.1.3 WiFi Problem - 3.9 BL phone] Would ziphone -b help?
I have a phone that has very temperamental WiFi.
Tried re-virginizing and downgrading all the way down to 1.0.2 and back up through each BB and my phone still crashes when I access the WiFi. The only mystery is that if the phone is powered off and left alone for an extended period of time, I have my WiFi back for a short while before it crashes again.
It has bootloader 3.9 on it... So could someone clarify if it is the Bootloader that governs that Comm board. (Which I'm thinking is obviously corrupted software-wise)
If so, has anyone tried reflashing their Bootlader with Ziphone? ... (bit of a long shot, but crashing wifi is worse then a bricked iphone.)

Worked for me...
It all started when my iPhone got fried using a music dock not approved for the unit. I purchased a new logic board and battery and she fired right up. I spent over 30+ hours trying to activate, unlock, jailbreak, downgrade, and upgrade with no success. I got WiFi but no EDGE or service. Most irritating part was when I got any kind of error on App Installer, my phone would go back to the activation screen and I would have to start all over again. I even damaged the baseband (repair needed error message) a few times but was lucky enough to recover from it. I thought ZiPhone was hard to use and read up on it on iClarified.com. See the specs on my sig for my iPhone. I used the following tutorial: http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=666
Took 2-1/2 minutes to activate, jailbreak, and unlock. Hope this helps out.

Bootloader DOES NOT governs Comm board, it is simililar to BIOS on your PC.... Main thing that is responsible for BT, WiFi and Phone is BASEBAND, and your is somehow corrupted (probably by previous unlocks) ....
You shoul try to put your iPhone to DFU mode (via iBrickr, manually or via ZiPhone) RESTORE via i Tunes to 1.1.3 to get 04.03_13G BASEBAND that should fix messups, use ZiPhone again to jailbrake, activate and unlock, and thing should be fine .... IF NOT, try to DFU RESTORE 1.1.2 Virginize (via Instaler or manually), and you should get your WiFi and BT back, and if you wish to go to 1.1.3 you can soft upgrade, and furthermore you can upgrade again your baseband to 04.03_13G and use AnySim 1.3 to unlock .... there are tutorials on www.i.clarified

If you already have BL3.9 then -b will not re-write your bootloader.
Only BL4.6 can be SW modded at this time.

Hello yuhackman, I have a OTB 1.1.2 which has no wifi (greyed out), no bluetooth, and when I put the screen to sleep, I canīt receive calls. I see that you mention that I can virginize the iphone manually (because I have no wifi). How can I do this???? I have searched and havenīt found a way to do this.
I have used Ziphone and downgraded my bootloader, and tried all combination of unlocks with ziphone. I have downgraded my iphone in DFU mode to 1.0.2, 1.1.1, 1.1.2 and 1.1.3 and canīt fix this problem.
Thanks a lot

All of you should try this.
./Ziphone -E
then
./Ziphone -D
Then restore to any firmware version. It should fix greyed out wifi, bt, losing signals, etc.

PSLink, tried that and did not work. Iīll read the virginize guide rvlyssup linked.

Thats what I did when i didn't have wifi (greyed out) and it worked for me. Ziphone erases your basband, then virginize, and you reflash with one of choice.
