The value DEFAULT under Default is the ringer volume. I have also tried making this 1.0 (and even higher), but still no difference.

Me too having the same issue hav tried many different things but no volume increse at all :-(

i just want the ringtone louder

1. open the antenna cover
2. remove speaker cover
3. replace antenna cover
4. goto settings->ipod->EQ->now choose Bass Reducer. (for distortion)

Worked for me.

Oh and depending on what kinda music you like, my favorite and LOUD song/ringtone is Papa Roach's Last Resort. It scares people it so loud sometimes.

I'll try N41's file and report the results

In front of me, I have my OTB 1.0.2 and OTB 1.1.2 iPhone. The 1.1.2 definitely has clearer and louder sound. I'll see if it makes a difference.

LOL it just hit me that you may think I'm being sarcastic about the removal of the dust cover that apple placed over the speaker port inside the antenna cover, but I'm serious it makes a pretty big difference. But you do get more bass distortion so thats the reasoning behind using the Bass Reducer in eq settings. If you don't feel confortable you can always put it back on.

Hmm... just tried it. MAYBE there's a difference, but it would be very small. Not really recommended as an enhancement to the speakerphone volume.

Still not as loud or clear as the OTB 1.1.2 > 1.1.3 iPhone.
