Instead you can use this method that works:

    Hi all,
    regarding the procedure discussed above....

    It simply doesn't work...
If you upgraded to 1.1.3 you can no longer downgrade because even if you choose your file (shift restore) I tunes reports errors and lock your phone...

    cheers!

no matter. There is an auto script in the rep.frenchiphone.com repo in installer which will automate this. Simply add the repo, run and restore.

I can confirm this definitely works. Thanks million, shawnie53.

Keep in mind, that iTunes as of version 7.6 doesn't allow firmware downgrades. You have to use the "WTF method".

    Hi Geircito,
I am in fact a new user and honestly I'll better check carefully all threads but, in my case, your procedure http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showpost...8&postcount=42 doesn't work.

When I release the home button nop other windows appears from itunes (not abele to press the check button). iTunes simply says the iphone is in recovery mode and that's it...no way for me to restore another firmware...Can this be due to the fact my was an original 1.1.2 OTB iphone with, i guess, new bootloader?

    anyway thanks

I have just upgraded my iTunes to 7.6 on my MacBook. I have also just downgraded a 1.1.2 iPhone to 1.1.1 firmware using the normal 10 second (DFU mode), and "option" clicking restore to select my firmware of choice. And YES i have iTunes 7.6 (29).

First time users should not post what does and doesnt work, as you dont have the experience to test things properly, I will not open another brandnew 1.1.2 sealed iPhone and downgrade it in the same manner.

Also, this method could only work on 3.9 bootloader iPhones.

I also had some doubt about iTunes 7.6 not allowing downgrade.
Because I had an iPhone downgrade from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 (BL3.9)
I think it works without any problem. Just remember to put your
iPhone in DFU mode. In my case, just hold Power + Home buttons
until "Connect to iTune" icon shows up, then connect to iBrickr
to put it in DFU mode by clicking "Begin Downgrade to 1.0.2"
iPhone screen goes white(DFU mode). Please correct me if I'm wrong.
    Thanks!!!!
