I just got a 1.1.3 OTB. I am trying to restore to 1.1.4 before i unlock, but i get "Unknown error (6)" every time in iTunes. I've tried like 7 times and always the same error between 50%-90% into the restore process.
The phone cant get out of recovery mode, and if i could is it still 1.1.3 or has the restore process messed it up?

Can u enter DFU-mode with ziphone and then restore in itunes?

Any ideas? Im using mac with leopard and itunes 7.6.1.

Would be very grateful for any help.

try getting a fresh copy of 1.1.4 or use a differnt computer. Trust me I googled this and thats why came up on a offcial apple page

I dont have access to any other computer. Please is there anyone who knows away to exit recovery mode on 1.1.3?

download ibrickr and use the option to boot up the phone

also try restoring to 1.1.3 insted of 1.1.4 and then try 1.1.4 again

Another option try upgrading then restoring and why did you put it in dfu mode, is sometimes else wrong too?

Try changing to another usb port. It worked for me. I read that on multiple forums.

Solved. I did the whole thing on a windows machine instead and it worked. That's kind of a slap in the face for a recent switcher like myself Anywho, it all works, followed this guide:

kept itunes running through the whole process. Oh my god that is a nice piece of machinery.
No service issues, no rights issues, no installer issues except i had to update to installer 3.01 to get it to work.

This is what I ended up with:

fw: 1.1.4
bl: 4.6
bb: the downgraded one originally for 1.1.2, to tired to pick up the phone and check.
