So, I'm having a new 16GB iPhone next week, and I thought I would like to share with you guys my plan for having a real unlock been in latest baseband, fw, etc...
I'm assuming you know what does a new 16GB iPhone means right now...(BL 4.6, 1.1.3 OTB, etc)
I'm in a mac (in tiger) btw, and also...I would like confirmation from some of you that may have tried this already or something similar...so any help would be appreciated in many ways

So first I need to JB, activate, downgrade bootloader and unlock now, here is a question, I want to use a real unlock, not a baseband patch, which means I need to use the iPSF-free unlock, so, first I will:
1.Activate, Downgrade BL and JB with ZiPhone (can that be made, just downgrade BL without the need of unlocking it?)
2.Run iPSF-free unlock
3.Install BSD (really necesary?)
4.Do anySIM 1.3 unlock from ZiPhone (no need to re-jailbreak and activate right? or do I have to select them again in the GUI?) to forget about the signal app run (that has been confirmed I think...)
5.Enjoy a latest baseband, 3.9BL and 1.1.3 OS iPhone unlocked with iPSF-free

Also, from my understanding a bad idea is to run anySIM first and iPSF-free later...now if that wouldn't be true I would assume that is would be better to run anySIM from the first ZiPhone run with the other stuff (JB, BL downgrade, etc) but I'm not sure that is a good idea...
also, is it necesary for itunes to look at it unactivated before doing anything?

so, please, all I need are confirmations for those 4 or 5 questions I really have,

If you really want this, just grab the latest Ziphone, 2.4.
It will do everything for you. Including downgrading the bootloader.
But why do you want to run IPSF-Free unlock AND anySIM????You are going to freak your iphone out.

If i were you i wouldnt downgrade the bootloader. The only thing you will loose is google location, which if you run locate me, then it will work. But downgrading the bootloader can make you loose greater things, like 4.6_GEOMOD (that could be a Custom BL that would let you do a lot of things). And updating a 3.9BL now, just with hardware

why do I want to run both of the methods? the posts around here http://hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=30297 may clear you up.
Now, I'm pretty sure I want to downgrade the BL, that is the only way the iPSF could work and I want to be an unlocked "free" person with no worries about firmwares or restores...it's the only true unlock actually...and personally I don't see the geomod coming by this time or near future...

Your method looks confusing to me.Why are you unlocking your phone twice?

Thread that you are referring to is for previously IPSF unlocked phones upgrading to 1.1.3.You have a 1.1.3 OTB.How is your situation the same?

thanks nab7007. Thats exactly what i meant. You dont need to run IPSF (geo´s one) and anySIM 1.1.3. That thread is completely diferent from this guy situation

no, I'm not in a previously unlocked with iPSF, of coruse not, BUT we are talking hypothetically here, in case I downgrade BL, then I will, for sure, unlock via iPSFfree, cause that is a real unlock! I mean, the only reason for me to downgrade BL is not because of Google Maps shit or whatever, is just because I want to have peace of mind for future firmwares, I always had 8GB one with iPSF, 0 problems with this sort of stuff...so, see what I mean?
also, I was thinking about an other posible alternative, what about the geohot unlock for OTB, which differs from anySIM....maybe it's an iPSF style one too?

Dude.........you are making it too complicated.

If you don't care about Google locater working or not then IMHO when you get your phone,do not downgrade bootloader,just use ziphone -a -j -u.Method used for unlocking is Geohot IPSF I believe.

bsd subsystem is requierd for anysim, and for alot of apps so it IS necessary to install!

My advice: do my tutorial and just downgrade the bootloader. I have unlocked my fone, my bros and my gfs (mine originally had 3.9 but theres had 4.6 bootloader , and on top of that my girlfriends was week >47, so just follow my tutorial it should be fine.

After i ran geohots gunlock (I did the iclarified tutorial, 1 click and they were both unlocked!) i was getting errors on the fone such as "not enough memory !" but theres an easy fix for that. Also, the installer would just say "package failed" or something to that effect, as you will soon find out if you keep your bootloader @ 4.6.

OK so an advantage of having bl4.6 is that u can run geohot's custom firmware?! dude, think about it (i have followed the psp hacking scene since forever), they are going to releasse it for both BL's, and if not they will find a way. AND IF NOT, you'll have 3.9 which is less buggier than 4.6(but this is only my opinion, i even feel like i get better service after virginizing.

My phone : Week 38, 1.1.1, 04.01g, 3.9BL, and never been happier!!
