[1.1.3] Jailbrake and activate - Please help clarify
Hi
Many questions are asked regarding jailbrake and unlocking of 1.1.3 iPhones.
It's pretty clear, you cannot unlock an 1.1.3 OTB iPhone!
But according to the status document, it's possible to jailbrake, but at the same time, it's not possible to activate.
Then, why the hell bother jailbraking???

Many users are responding to these questions, but everyone seems to disagree

its misleading
jailbreaking 1.1.3 also activates it
so youll have access to everything bar the phone
if you have a turbosim etc, it will work

Sorry pgilder, I dont believe you when you say an 1.1.3 OTB (4.6 bootloader and new modem firmware) can be used as a phone with xsim solution!

I think this question will get asked a lot -especially now the 16GB IPhone is out, bringing a whle load of 1.1.3 OTB users. I read around a little and it looks like 1.1.3 OTB can be used as an IPod at best. Hopefully 'activation' will follow which I am assuming means that AT&T/O2 etc etc customers can use existing AT&T/O2 etc etc sims in their Iphones...? Its not an unlock but it would work for me! My Iphone 'Classic 8GB' is fully unlocked on 1.1.3 but I use it on O2 UK anyway.

what? have you got a original uk o2 iPhone, or does every o2 card work with every jailbreaked iPhone?
iŽll get my iPhone (probably fw 1.1.3) in a few days and i got a t-mobile sim card (germany). BUT i wonŽt get this to work, or should i?!?!?!?!?!?
i thought only the special iphone sims work (at&t, o2, orange, t-mobile)
or do other sims from these firms above work correctly with the iphone (=phone function)?
