Discuss [1.1.3] It's REAL and reports suggest it INCLUDES BASEBAND SOFTWARE at the iPhone "2G" (Rev. 1) - Hackint0sh.org; Originally Posted by SimplePanda This is exactly true. People need to simmer their hopes down ...

If you read the posts about the bootloader reversing, the new bootloader does a full signature check on any baseband software loaded into the modem ON EACH BOOT. This is important to remember.

Bootloader 3.9 signature checked the firmware when it was flashed. The dev team exploited a bug in the 3.9 firmware that allowed them to bypass this signature check and thus upload a binary patched and unlocked baseband.

With 4.6 checking at each boot, even if you can get the patched baseband into the modem, you still have to deal with the fact that as soon as you reboot the iPhone the bootloader will "enter brick state" your phone when it sees your baseband isn't signature correct.

Honestly - if I had to guess, I'd say 1.1.2 OTB iPhones may never actually get fully unlocked. At least not with the ease of anySIM on 3.9 equipped devices.

I'd say the most likely route to an unlock for new phones exists in discovering the proper NCK unlock against unpatched basebands. Geohot has some info on this and it looks a little more promising than any anySIM style unlocks.
I didn't know that until now.... that's mean there are lots to do more...cause checking Baseband every Boot is not an easy thing...

I feel that I'm stuck with my iPod Touch......

    Default more speculation about speculations

I'm not actually very hopeful on getting the Unlock. There are still too many buts and guessings. In the past few week there's been atleast 10 different methods revealed and the same concerning the ready unlock. It looks like the Chinese did not complete it (oh yes, it was very promising and gave yearned hope) and the same goes to our own teams. Even there's 1.1.3 FW out it's just too small chance, too small, to finish the job. Let's just all start to oder h/w unlocks and stop this bull$hiting. Maybe, possibly, if something new is discovered will the s/w unlock become availalbe, but so far it's just more of mindgames still for a very long time.

p.s. As a personal minding, I'm allmost 100% sure that there is a "numberkeycompination" (something like *#1234#*) to make the phone sim-free. It just haven't (yet) leak out. The operators and others been really careful not to let it slip out in any case, which ofcourse is good biz.

    Anyways, thanks for reading.

mate, place your order at this moment i'd say there will be no s/w unlock in 15 days. Too many things to solve in fifteen days and the fifteen days are defenitely too less.

And yes, i tryly hope that i'd be wrong, but the odds are...well what they are...

You should put some kind of disclaimer at the beginning of your post that warns people before having to read it.

You really have no idea what's going on, and neither does anybody else. The only people that truly know right now are the dev team with 1.2 and maybe the Chinese. There have not been 10 different methods. There have been 10 different scams.

Everybody that doesn't code and says they don't think a method will come out is just a pessimist. You really have no idea. Just wait before you make comments that others foolishly believe.

I still don't believe this hack. In the recent History of Apple Inc, there has never be an update leaked. Apple is a closed door community during the development stages and as the SDK has not been released yet, I can't see there being a iPhone update like this in public domain. If apple was seeding updates to developers, then yes it could be, but they are NOT.

Yes without a doubt there is an update in Cupertino, but that's it. Maybe some of these features will be in the update, maybe some won't. If it was genuine, then Apple would have moved by now (as they did with the leaked iPod Nano pics) to have it removed. The silence from Apple on this confirms its not real!

I really wish that there is a number key combination.
But if there was one, and it would leak out on internet i think apple would be fast and change the number key combination on the future iPhones ...

Not exactly, Apple's Tiger was seeded on azureus before it was presented for retail or even presented to the public at all (if i remember correctly)
Lawyers were unleashed and lots of people sued for it.
So Apple's isn't an unfailurable HQ.
Remember, it's just human making mistakes...

    yeap, quite like my thoughts.

Happened some time ago. My Nokia (sim-locked) got broken THIRD time in a row. I phoned to my operator and told them my problem. They offered me a new phone (completely different model) and an unlock code to key in for the old broken one. Now I have an unlocked Nokia, which does not work properly as it should, but is yea sim-free.... Well the point is that the point is point.
