Apparently iPon doesn't think anyone should have an opinion. He didn't believe in reviewing all evidence before passing judgement. I personally have nothing against the guy, but he needlessly attacked an opinion I set forth for debate and tried his best to put me down. He proved to me that he was narrow visioned in the matter.

I on the other had asked is this right and where is the confirmation. Nate or Andru never confirmed the baseband in the update, but pspsully (who is part of the dev team and posts status updates here) did. All they had to do was say yes it does contain a baseband update, but we can't reveal the number in case of comprises ours sources.

I never once said that it was fake or a hoax. I did say that I was not convinced and asked for confirmation. Huge difference that iPon can't grasp. Its a shame really because this is a forum where debate is healthy.

If pspsully's word is good enough for the mods then it is good enough for the rest of the community, but obviously iPon doesn't know how credible he actually was. Instead he blindly believed what was posted as an unconfirmed posting until earlier this evening.

Don't be offened by anything we might say, we just like to debate and discuss. Its good to establish creditability but all to often I've seen false reports of apple updates and products being reported. Keeping pace with apple is a full time job. I'm glade that I discovered gearlive over the last few days and indeed that my skeptism was proven wrong. I'll look forward to adding gearlive to my expanding list of sources for apple relate new and emerging news.

Ipon: why are you so worried about andru and gearlive ? If he leaked photos and video he is ALREADY in big trouble if apple wants to sue him... (wheter it's a press right or not, they can get themself in endless court...) Apple doesn't need to prove anything as he posted a video showing his face and unreleased apple software. If his leaker is found he'll answer in court for breaking the NDA (non disclousre agreement)

What I dont understand is... NOBODY is forced to anything, he choosed by himself (of course, because he wanted his site to become famous) to leak this 1.1.3 firmware... (and please don't start saying that he did this to help us, he did this to EARN MORE MONEY, and I would do the very same if I were he). Ok ?

All that he's doing is feeding us very slowly to keep his site access high... first he posted some pictures... them a video with features and with a unreadable version number (ohhh I fogot, his camera is unable to focus, that was the most stupid excuse I've ever seen, as his first camera was able to focus even on at&t logo).. Them he post a picture showing only the firmware... them make in 2 days he'll post other things...

I REALLY don't think he's wrong doing this, I WOULD DO THE VERY SAME, as he have already told us here, he does this for living...

But what I can't understand is, EVERYONE wants to know the baseband... all he want to know is, is the baseband (modem firmware == 04.02.x) ?? or is it a new one ?

I don't think the baseband is watermarked, if anything is marked it would be the firmware or imei/serial/something like that.

If he wants PEOPLE to ask question, the at least he should answer with a "YES, baseband is XXX" or "NO - i won't post that, move along".

Let's remember that everyon on this forum is looking forward for a unlocking, and a new baseband (secpack) is what we need to try a lot of things. If you don't care about a new baseband (unlock) you shouldn't be reading this.

Ipon is so worried that Í'm starting to think he's the one who leaked the firmware Grow up, people are RESPONSIBLE for their acts. He surely earned a lot of money for leaking 1.1.3 (he was on slashdot), surely a lot of ads on his site. And PLEASE, I'm not stupid, I WOULD DO THE VERY SAME THING HE'S DOING SO FAR... (even the slow release of information is a very WISE option to keep traffic). What I WOULD NOT DO is answer unbeliavable excuses... just ANSWER the question with a STRAIGHT YES OR NO
