I don't believe they will. On three different forums where the GearLive authors were actively posting, they have been asked about the settings screenshots and the firmware numbers. Each time they stopped responding. Had to run out to lunch every time and couldn't come back?...

Combined with the obvious nonsense statement in the latest video, that their camera couldn't capture that page clearly (while it perfectly captured things as tiny as the icon labels), it's clear: they are not willing to give out this information.

guys, even if you'd see a shot of showing the FW version, what difference it would make? If they'd have faked the stuff so far, with all those fancy stuff, I'm positively sure, that they could easily push it a bit further and make it to show as 1.1.3. Right?

Proving it with pictures & videos would not do any change, it could still be fake, like wise it could be quite real without showing any actual FW information. Or am I wrong?

The point is that they have only suggested there was a new baseband version; some of us would like to see it for ourselves. I think we are beyond the discussion on faking -- the video and Nate True combined are credible enough.

Fair enough I'm very fond of to see it as well but just saying, that seeing it would not make any difference if concerning on true of fake question.

Can I put my 2 cents on this?
OK Nate is a well known guy in iphone neighbourhood and we know that he wouldnt lie, we know that he can fuck up someone if he shares the FW but my question is:
If Nate is everything I've said up there and if he made the ibrickr dont you guys think that he before us knows that the more important for people is the About page then those improvement things (which most of them could be done by 3rd party apps)?
Im not accusing him in any way its just a comment on whats going on. He put some pics, he put a video doing those things, then he gets his face in video saying its real well we know you can do those things but that doesnt prove that you have 113 installed in that iphone. But whatever if mos of the people believe it than I guess Im wrong and I believe too (because I want alot to believe).

Whatever I guess all these 10 pages have something similar to my post...

You know all this carry on about seeing the Version kinda reminds me of the days prior to the release of the last Harry Potter Book - and like this 'sneak look' of the new software - the Harry Potter 'watchers' only wanted to know the ending - Would he live or die - to hell with the story and all the adventures.

Someone shows us the 'story' of the new software and all we seem to want is to see a Version screen - to hell with seeing what it will actually do and what is changed.

Those that have the new software know what it is - the rest of us must wait for the 'opening night'

As I posted in another forum: Stay Calm, Drink plenty of water and rest

I agree with Anarchy that Nate surely knows how interesting the version numbers are. Presumably, he really can't reveal the information for reasons of protection of sources (Apple could have made the baseband version number slightly different for the different developers who got to see the pre-release, or something like that). What annoys me is the repeated false promises ("we'll put up a screenshot") and lame excuses ("our video camera can't make this screen visible") on the part of GearLive. If they had just said "we're not telling you the version numbers and we won't tell you why", it would have been fine with me.

Yea I'll agree with this, but really a video doesn't take that long to create. Seeing as a Nate is a respected software developer/hacker in the iphone community, I would have though he would have been eager to get on with it....

Apple are approaching the 1Yr point with the iPhone and I would imagine want to make it even more appealing. The locator is a very nice feature. Something very small that seems to be wanted by a lot of people is support for Flash! The ability to move icons around and expand the springboard is essential for for SDK. I mentioned before, that I can't see third party applications available through this route for about 3 months (SDK Feb, 1 to 2 month for development (third party), apple screening and becoming available via iTunes). So why would this icon moving feature appear in the next update? All in all these features are not that spectacular. Apple want to attract enterprises to the wider Apple family, therefore should be adding support for pages, numbers, keynote and iChat!

In my narrow mind, I can't see Apple having very many Beta testers for iPhone updates outside of their Cupertino Campus. As they have not released SDK yet, I'd think virtually all testing is done on site. Apple are notorious for guarding their latest creations. I just can't see how this got off Campus and onto the web. Maybe the same way the images of he iPod Nano did but then there was many more parties involved at that stage. Apples silence is deafening.

The video does look very convincing but I'd expect more of Apple and still am somewhat uncertain of it. Why have we not seen the FW version or the Baseband information!!!! To many these may seem not that important, but to Apple watchers there maybe tell tale signs in the composition. The version that will be released may differ considerably. Notice how the spring board hangs and also that it appears to be Mail icon, Calculator and itunes that are selected icons to move! If this is genuine, I'd guess it is a very early beta version.

There is too many questions left unanswered! It is very rare that an Apple rumor as detailed as this ever comes to pass.
