Do you need to include the bbupdater, ICE04.03.13_G.fls & ICE04.03.13_G.eep files if you've used iTunes to upgrade your baseband, or is this only if you are already soft-upgraded and simply want to flash the new baseband on??

You sure? I am on a Nate's JB on 1.1.3 upgraded from 1.1.2 with the bb as 04.02.13_G. I dont have to downgrade or anything? Just run the script to get the new baseband with unlock?

i am starting from scratch jsut to have everything right from the get go. (the phone i am testing on is week 29 that has 0049, was on 1.1.2/113 softupdate...)

this way my tutorial will start as a 3.9bl with 1.1.3

i see that geohot suggested having bbupdater and eep and fls files, so i put them there, i like to incliude all steps and files, you can choose to leave out steps that you may not need etc...

when i am complete i will update the psot and maybe create new thread with the optional start points.

If you look at ipsf.sh

It basically
1. flash baseband with elite's virginizor
2. dump seczone and keya
3. ISPF (process)
4. flash patched seczone
5. dump patched seczone
6. reflash baseband to 4.03

So I don't think it need to be run on baseband 4.03 and the FW files and bbupdater are needed because the baseband was needed to reflash to 4.03 or your iphone will have virginizor on the baseband

After running the script you should backup the original seczone (and patched seczone) in case that you may need to reverse the entire process.

Unlock before jailbreak... had this happened before?

(I know there is jailbreak, but it is a 'soft' upgrade, not like upgrade thru itunes, and then jailbreak & unlock)

I don't see a point of doing it since it only works until you restart the iphone, then it locks itself up and you have to run an unlock command again. We should wait until the unlock works 100%

I think only developers should unlock 1.1.3 right now.

amen to that my friend
and they should not publish tutorials of how to do it since all (well most) people will jump in and do it and start whining about how bad it is. this is only my opinion i am a 1.1.2 (3.9BL) happy user why would i risk my precious 3.9BL for a new useless baseband
