    Dev Team used a classic buffer overflow exploit (I think involving some form of streaming). As for SymLinks they're are removed/disabled in the upgrade and won't work, Apple probably deliberately did this as the SymLink was used to jailbreak a previous FW I seem to recall.

    Its became clear to me that its useless to try anything... people just like to complain and flame... no one likes to be productive... and like I said I don't care about the sdk ... regardless of, if we have it for a few months... apple will fix whatever hole we have... they have been from the start anyways.. oh well.. you all can wait for your "GODS" the devteam to release it..

    I do thank anyone that did put it any sort of productive information or thought...

    I doubt many are "fine". It's just they're sensible; if everyone went around rampagin complaining that they aren't releasing the jailbreak then they're gonna be less inclined to release it seeing as they do it for free.

    Look... i'm not complaining that they aren't releasing it.. I couldn't care less if they do or don't ... cuz to be honest I think I could figure it out myself sooner or later... I'm just saying... don't tell me to hush up if I find it.. I'm not here to make money out of it either... just like i've said over and over again.. I think its futile to wait... it will be patched... and we will be back to where we are now sooner or later...

    I'm sorry, but I find it very hard to believe Apple is waiting on the hacking community to discover the exploit. If anything, they're always gonna have a tighter security with the newest firmware. Holding on to it just so we can wait for the dev team to find the exploit in 1.1.4? weak. I commend the dev team for everything they have done, but i honestly believe holding on to it for the sdk is the wrong choice. Having an sdk defeats the purpose of third party apps and installer app!

    As I pointed out in another post;

    It most likely will be patched by Apple even if the jailbreak isnt released at all. Ofcourse Apple is constantly developing...

    To honest I think I would like the mods to kill this thread or rename it for me.... because this thread has run away from its main purpose.. I started it to find a possible jailbreak because the devteam thinks we should wait so like like little puppets you guys sit and wait... well sorry to say it.. I don't need to be told what to do.. and whatever is done in the next month will be fixed with the next firmware.. lol you guys call it a cat and mouse yourself... lol do you know what that means?? you think the game will end because you waited a month? you dont think that apple will fix it? lol cuz if not then the dev teams shouldn't be releasing and should make millions of dollars because they've found the cure?? i don't think so.. i think they've bought a couple of extra months by delaying it a month big freaking deal.. any how someone please change the title to "lets argue if the jailbreak should come out"

    Thank you

    serves them right if they do patch it before release. with mainstream reports of 1.1.3 being a little buggy with text messages showing out of sequence and stuff, i wouldnt be surprise if they did do a quick patch before sdk release and lock out the jailbreak.

    it seems the teams are scared... they are finding it hard to sw unlock and found that the next update may be too difficult to get a jailbreak in so they are hanging on to this one and try to ensure some legacy post sdk release.

    i mean really... why fear release... if they patch it and you're team's kung fu is strong, you just jailbreak the next one just like you have in the past... you look forward to the next challenge. doesn't seem the case here.

    hope rumor is true and devteam is trying to come up with alternative jailbreak to release... doesnt matter who does it... first one wins... and we all win.

    I agree that they should release the jailbreak now. Keeping the release till SDK is out doesn't mean that Jailbreak method won't be patched by Apple.

    The Jailbreak works now, and it should be used now. Apple might still have the Jailbreak patched 1 month later no matter what, if the dev team can find holes to Jailbreak, Apple should able to find the holes and have them patched.
