    Default [1.1.3] Hopefully Useful Information

    Hello everyone.

I started with anySim on 1.0.2 and eventually, when 1.1.1 came out, I used IPSF to virginize and unlock my iPhone. I hadn't had any trouble, but eventually my contract with T-Mobile expired and so I made the switch to AT&T. Now, keep in mind my phone is still unlocked because of IPSF, so I'll probably run into trouble if they ever decide to patch the bug. (Thus why I'm still here)

Anyway, I just wanted to share some findings from the 1.1.3 upgrade that will hopefully shed some light onto the situation.

I upgraded legit, unjailbroken but still unlocked, to the 1.1.3 firmware and some interesting stuff happened.

The phone didn't deactivate and then reactivate like it usually does. It upgraded and restarted just fine into the springboard, and only after restarting the phone did it kick me to the deactivated screen.

I experimented a bit with the activation screen and the bug that let you into the Contacts seems to have been patched. (*#301# exploit)
(Edit: No, it's *#307#. It still works, I'm just stupid )

I know it's only a small amount of information, but hopefully it can help some people devise new jailbreaking methods.

I figured I might as well post it, just so people knew what to expect, y'know?

So, the phone you upgraded to 1.1.3 was previously unlocked via IPSF... is that right? have you re-activated it using your AT&T account? if yes, can you put any sim back in the phone? I'm just wondering if IPSF unlock is still active !!!

This is right. The original AT&T sim card activates fine. I'll try putting in my TMobile sim card.

Well, this is interesting. When I placed my TMobile sim card back into the phone, I didn't get an invalid sim warning or a wrong sim warning. I just had no bars.

I have wifi access, but no EDGE or phone services. Upon restarting the iPhone, I'm kicked back to the activation screen.

iTunes constantly reports that "The SIM card does not appear to be supported."

Seems as though IPSF is dead, eh?

New developments, I don't know if this was pre-1.1.3 or not, but I don't seem to need iTunes to reactivate my phone when the SIM card is switched.

When I re-inserted my activated AT&T sim card, the phone automatically reactivated, despite not being connected to my USB cable.
