1.1.3 carrier.plist & operator.plist inaccessible
Hi,
I'm trying to edit
com.apple.carrier.plist
com.apple.operator.plist
under /var/mobile/Library/Preferences
but no luck
the files are binary but Mac property editor cannot edit the files.
I also tried
http://homer.informatics.indiana.edu...il/plutil.cgi/
but that didn't work too.
Any ideas?

They're editable with PlistEditPro (OS X)

Those are shortcuts. They have actually moved the files around now. Use WINSC or watnot to find the real files

The scheme changed for fw 1.1.3: iPhone OS now uses bundle files located at the System folder, not like 1.1.1 or 1.1.2. Follow the symlink to find the folder. I've created a bundle using the ATT_US.bundle with my settings, named it after my carrier and create a link with the carrier code that points to this bundle and it worked fine. You also have to swap SIM's so the links are updated to reflect the new settings.

Can you take a couple of minutes and elaborate on how exactly you created the link? I've got a T-Mobile_UK.bundle already made and placed into the /System/Library/Carrier Bundles folder, however I simply need to make the link.

You have to get your operator ID (a number) from somewhere (I got it from an old Carrier.plist file that I had from an older hack) and use ssh or terminal to create the symlink in the folder that has the bundles:
ln -s Operator.bundle OperatorID

@slimnickyy
Unfortunately, not these files,
There is a format change, plist editor can open other plist files but there are a few files it can't . I checked the binary and there seem to be a signature change.
Could you confirm that you can open carrier.plist in Unknown carrier bundle?
I'm trying to sort out the call forwarding message & lost edge setting menu.
thanks serkan

Am I entering it wrong to gain access to that folder to create the symlink?
