[1.1.3] (4.6) Restore to 1.1.4 gives error 1011
Hi, I have searched high and low and cant seem to find an answer to my issue.
-New 16gb, bought in the uk yesterday
-1.1.3 firmware, with BL 4.6
-virgin 1.1.3, not activated, jailbroken or unlocked
-iTunes 7.6.1.9
-Windows XP
-Connect and put in DFU, press shift+restore, select 1.1.4 firmware
-process goes about 80% through and then i get restore failed error 1011
-iphone stays in DFU and itunes prompts to restore again
-I then tried restore to 1.1.3 using shift+restore and this completed saying restore was ok, itunes goes back to welcome to iphone screen
Problem is I want to get to 1.1.4 to use iPlus to unlock etc as I am a little suspicious of ZiPhone
Any suggestions on the restore to 1.1.4 failing would be great
Thx

Ok, I have tried every single method I can find to try and get to 1.1.4......no luck, always get a 1011 error during the restore. I have tried downgrading to 1.1.1 so I can use the pre ziphone/iplus unlocks.....no joy. When I try and unlock using ziphone 2.5c I always get the scrolling text on the iphone and then it gets to a stage where it just keeps saying attempts... over and over. Left it for 20mins and it was still going. Put the iphone back in DFU and can restore back to 1.1.3. When I press 'i' on the screen it shows vaild IME etc and baseband shows 4.0.3......
My question is how can I activate/jailbreak/unlock 1.1.3 without using ziphone or downgrading to 1.1.1 firmware????

Iphone showing cable & CD is "Restore" mode. Not DFU mode.I have seen you post that in other threads as well.Just trying to guide you so that you can guide people better.
@ OP
Have you tried restoring in actual DFU mode. You should not get any errors in itunes while restoring in DFU.
Here is a good tutorial on the difference between DFU and RESTORE modes and how to get DFU mode.

I managed to downgrade to 1.1.1, but cannot unlock using g-unlock, hangs after 20mins rebooted iphone and could go back to 1.1.1 or 1.1.3.......I have deduced that my baseband is corrupt as it has never changed from 04.03.13_G. After a restore to 1.1.3 I tried making an emergency call.....failed. I am now going to use iphone-tools to see if I can make any progress.

Ok, just restored to 1.1.1, then did iphone-tools -N, iphone goes to normal mode, shows activation screen. Then I did iphone-tools -b and the process starts, I get these messages in cmd prompt
Loading iphonerdisk.dat...
Searching for iPhone...
Entering recovery mode...
Working...
Text scrolls on the iphone and after it says something about mac I get this:
Attempt...
Attempt...
Attempt...
Attempt...
Attempt...
Attempt...
Attempt...
Attempt...
Attempt...
Attempt...
Attempt...
and it just keeps going
So do I have something wrong with the 4.9BL that is stopping it from downgrading to 3.9FBL?

I had the same exact problem before. Basically, the baseband is dead. Its not responding. I just got it replaced at the apple store.
