[1.1.3 to 1.1.4] iPhone is still unlocked - why? (ziPhone 2.5, IPSF, Act114)
I bought a 1.0.2 OTB iPhone, IPSF unlocked. Every Update worked without any problems. For 1.1.3 I used Signal.app for getting my signal back. So here is what I have done with my 1.1.3 iPhone:
- entered DFU / restore mode
- Restored to 1.1.4 using iTunes 7.6.1
- Used ziPhone 2.5 (only activation and jailbreak)
Didn't work for me. iTunes said invalid sim. iPhone said "only emergency calls". But I still had signal of my carrier and MiM from Erica Sadun was still working (applied in 1.1.3). Did this several times, same issue every time (even if I entered DFU / restore mode manually before using ziphone 2.5).
So I tried to use Act114 from Geohot (activation and jailbreak based on ziPhone 2.4).
- First time it said error, InvalidHost ID, Pairing Issue.
- Second time, error Pairing Issue, I should enter DFU / restore mode manually
- Did this, started Act114 and it worked
Now, every time I start my iPhone I get my signal... don't need Signal.app from 1.1.3. I don't understand why?????
Another question, why is MiM from Erica Sadun still applied after restoring to 1.1.4???
Has anybody answers (or ideas) for my questions?

because some program also applyed "anysim" patch, so currently you have you iphone unlocked twice
edit: also i would never to upgrades, do full restores since its also clears media parition and possible all crap data that stays there from installer etc

is there a way to check whether anysim patch is applied or not? is there a way to get rid of the "anysim" patch - or is it no problem to have my iphone unlocked twice?

I restored my iPhone to 1.1.4 -> DFU mode -> Option Key + Restore -> Firmware 1.1.4. What do you mean with a "full restore"?

hmmm dunno how really to check if you have unlocked iphone with anysim... if nothing else you can dump baseband and check there
but i wouldnt be bothered anyway... its nothing really wrong even if it is.
Well doubt you have done restore since MIM would not be there otherwise...

Since 1.1.3 I always unlock twice (as soon as an unlock is available) - I don't like signal.app.
Never had a problem with that

That's the part I don't understand. I applied MIM in 1.1.3. To restore to 1.1.4 I entered the DFU mode (pressed home + power... only home... iTunes said it recognised my iPhone in recovery mode, pressed OPTION KEY + Restore.. chose 1.1.4 Firmware which I downloaded manually before........ iPhone restarted and said "only emergency calls" but showed for 1 second my carrier and then my MIM applied name. - iTunes said "InvalidSim")

Hi,
I have the same here.
I had a 1.1.2OTB running 1.1.3 Gunlock when it came out old JB method.
I then erased the baseband and downgraded to 3.9 from 4.6 with Ziphone 2.5, into DFU restore mode.
Then Restored (Not Update) to 1.1.4 and the latest baseband.
My Voda sim ( I in the UK O2 only) showed a signal after the Itunes restore.
So I am sat there with unactivated Iphone, Voda sim, fully signal and it says Emergency calls only, but lets me dial in and out.
Even though I flashed the latest baseband the phone remains unlocked.
I then Activated and JB no unlock.
I am now on the latest Baseband and no unlock ran on it after Itune full restore and fully unlocked.
Any ideas?
Cheers
