I am having some trouble here.

Here are the steps that I best remember them.

I took a 1.1.3 phone. (unsure what method was used on it before) and:

1. ziphone -e
2. ziphone -d
3. went to itunes and did a full restore to 1.1.4 and erase everything
4. went back to ziphone and pressed the "do it all" (unlock, jailbreak, activate)
5. the output window shows it was sending zXX.dat to phone. I can't remember the exact file name but it was part of the first steps. At this time, the iphone is at a black screen with a cursor at the top left and nothing more. This step took a long time with no progress, I thought it hung so I stopped the process and the iphone was still at the black screen with cursor.
6. I unplugged the cable and a bunch of error msgs showed up on the screen. I am unable to turn off the iphone at this point as it does not respond to the button.

IOIpodUSBDevice::starIpodStack can't start! need configuration"
it says "IOIpodUSBDevice::gated_message cable removed, stopping stack"

There are some more messages as well.

So have I really destroyed my iphone??

any comments would be appreciated.

Will the phone show up in itunes when you enter DFU mode?
If so then run a restore to 1.1.4

no, does not go into DFU and Pc does not detect iphone.

So if you hold the home and sleep button down until the phone shuts down then keep holding the home button what will happen?

I just tried and it rebooted. tonnes of text came through and ziphone showed up on the iphone and tried to detect some disks but could not find it. then it reboot and put me into DFU mode.

I am trying to update to 1.1.4 now.

at this point, if this doesn't work could it be because of the previous unlocked method used on the 1.1.3?

would I be better of to restore to 1.1.3, then ziphone, then update to 1.1.4? or doesn't matter?

Don't update to 1.1.4 restore to 1.1.4

I'll tell you where I think you have gone wrong

First if you had a 1.1.3otb unlock somehow all you would have needed to do is just restores to 1.1.4 to clean up that phone then run iPlus or iLiberty to unlock again.

What you did running (-e) and (-d) was at best a risky move you didn't need to take

Hopefully restoring to 1.1.4 will work ok so from there just get iPlus and use that instead of ziphone
