1.1.3 (1.1.2) Region Support Problem - Romania
Unlocked with ZiPhone and works perectly, but even with the old & long unlock method I couldn't get Romania into the country support list. I need it because the SMS messages I get aren;t recognized by the agenda.
I tried iWorld and the unlock.no # to name method but they don't work on 1.1.3.
I've also tried the iClarified method (for Win) and manually added Romania in the txt file like this:
// Romania [ro]
ro 40 00 0 ### #######
Didn't see any changes there.
Any ideas?
Cheers!

Rookie
Array
try adding another line
// Romania [ro]
ro 40 00 0 ### #######
uk 40 00 0 ### #######
and set your region to UK... and restart..
GIVES ME WINGS

I changed the uk line with the ro settings and set the region format to uk. the agenda still doesn't get the numbers.
Should I see Romania listed in the region format selection list? Cause I don't.
I've tried iWorld on 1.1.2 and it worked like a charm. Is there a way to do manualy what iWorld did?

Actually there's non for 1.1.3 as far as i know , in 1.1.2 cynix had a fix on installer.app to add more regions ... but it's not available to 1.1.3
in the meanwhile there's another way... you have to patch UIPhoneFormats.plist
and edit one of the actual available regions towards the format you want, it's not the nicest but it works
so find that UIPhoneFormats.plist convert it to an xml plist with
http://140.124.181.188/~khchung/cgi-bin/plutil.cgi
and then edit , let's say the us region format to the format on your country, upload it again to your iphone, reboot and the agenda will take it....

I modified the uk configuration like this:
<array>
<string>0### - ### ####</string>
<string>00 $</string>
<string>0## - #### ####</string>
<string>+40 ##########</string>
<string>0#### - ######</string>
</array>
the original uk had 44 instead of 40.
Sadly it still doesn't work. I also tried with just 4 instead of 40 and still nothing.
The idea is that romanian numbers are memorized in my agenda in this form: 0xxxyyyyyy
The incoming messags add +4 before it (+40xxxyyyyyy). How do those strings work?

solved it
thanks for making me try the iClarified method again, jtarrio :p
I had the syntax wrong. Should have added + + + + 7## ###### to the file.
